2020 Subaru Outback XT 0-60mph+ TURBO

You'll see CVT lag, turbo lag, and even an example of the auto start/stop "feature" engaging before a pull. When it's already wound up and you're riding through twisties or passing on the interstate, the power is a bit more accessible. Overall, I think it's a great setup and I am very happy with it.

I just floored it here. I didn't roll on or do anything else technique-wise.

Note: This engine is only halfway through its recommended break-in period. I hear the transmission learns driving behavior, and I’ve been gentle so far, so results may vary. But of course everyone floors it during a test drive, so this is about what you’d expect if you’re considering buying this model new.

Nice! I'm estimating high 6's to low 7's based on the video timer. I'd say that's about right (and what I'm getting on my Limited XT). Where the car really shines is inthe 20-80 range.

I have an 05 Outback xt automatic. A guy passed me in double yellow going downhill. He had a Chrysler 300. He was hard on the accelerator in a 45 zone. Starting up the hill I kicked my Subie and he was leaving me. I was doing 78 mph in seconds. A state trooper was coming down the hill and the 300 passed the cop doing 90. My heart was in my throat. The trooper lit up with siren wailing, but I couldn't slow down enough to get out of his way. I made a quick left turn, and the popo musta really wanted that 300. He passed me with his engine roaring and disappeared down the road, hot for that Chrysler.

Owned a 2006 Outback XT. Was relatively quick in a straight line. However, handling and driving dynamics was as expected. And that 06 was a smaller more nimble Outback than today.

The wilderness OB has a better off the line power due to the newer Ascent CVT and programing and final drive ratio.

The lack of a manual transmission on most new Subaru models is depressing.

The new Outback looks like a great new SUV/Crossover(It is not a wagon, it's bigger than every truck it competes against in its segment) but I wish Subaru had kept it more of a lifted sports wagon rather than a big truck. It looks about 2 seconds slower to 60 mph than my old turbo 2007 Outback. It is a shame that Subaru doesn't make anything bigger than an WRX/STI but still sporty and fast. There is no where to go, in the current Subaru lineup, if you want a family oriented enthusiast car. I guess Subaru has the Levorg but they don't sell that in North America and the Legacy is way too big and soft now. The Legacy should have been Subaru's KIA Stinger, that would give people that owned a WRX or STI a logical car to buy.

2022 Premium, non-turbo. The turbo would have been great. Yes the 2.5 is not a racer. But I didnt buy it to see how fast it could go, but how far. MPG"s are amazing.
