So, I've actually done a fair amount of research on this knife. I'm a diver and was planning on doing some shark dives (unfortunately the opportunity fell through.) From my understanding, this knife was designed to inject a large amount of gas into an attacking shark's body cavity. Sharks rely on neutral buoyancy to maintain particular depths. Injecting a large amount of gas would make the animal much more buoyant and immediately force it to the surface, thus ending the attack. I'm not sure its ever been used for it's intended purpose but I imagine it would work fairly well assuming you got a good amount of penetration into the sharks side.

They aren't meant for stabbing into ballistics gel, they are meant to be stabbed into a body cavity. The gas does two things: inflates the body cavity with a gas, causing the shark to float away and inhibit it's ability to swim, and detach muscle groups from the side walls of the cavity you punctured. In a human, you would cause the body cavity to pressurize, not only making it impossible to draw breath, but potentially rupturing softer organs by the drastic increase in pressure on them.

The commercials make it seem like "its so powerful!" Thank you for this REAL review.

The gas leaking from the handle is because the first test you did compromised the integrity of seals. The ballistics gel was too strong and most of the gas was forced back through the knife, so the knife would never perform as intended after that first test.

Good way to carbonate a beverage, too.

These are designed to inject C02 into a body cavity. This is why the ballistic gel test is a little underwhelming. In a body cavity it will expand and cause massive trauma.

Seems like it'd be hard to successfully penetrate an attacking shark and simultaneously activate the trigger under a stressful situation, especially given how thick it is.

interesting thing about this that I'd wish was easier to test, is it's not necessarily mean to go deep, it's supposed to just get right under the shark's skin, so that when you push the button, it creates a cavity between the skin and the rest of the body, it also freezes certain portions causing more damage

I think the obvious thing people would wanna see is what it would to to a balistics dummy with a chest cavity or something similar idk how comfortable youd be with that or is yt will even alow it. Mbut personaly i wanna know cus i read the articles about this knife and its suppoed to beable to make sharks throw up their organs and depths of up to 11, 000ft but from what im seing it doesnt look like it would even do that.

I only watch this guy occasionally when he pops up. I come here because its like watching a kid learn how to use a screwdriver for the first time. Then watching the kid try to use the screwdriver incorrectly in every way possible. Ive never seen so little research in a review or expieriment in my life. It's so dumb it's actually frustrating and funny at the same time. Like I cant decide if i want to punch him in the face out of frustration or give him a hug and say bless his heart like a good ol' southerner.

I think you should do a video about the cyclone knife (3 edged spiral blade) that'd be awesome. Also hope to see you on twitch again soon

I would think all these tests needed to be done under water since the hydraulic pressure will be completely different when the thing you’re stabbing is submerged.

The is test would have been better if you didn’t wiggle it when you put it in because then the air would not be able to escape and it would have been locked in. Great vid though love your content
