I always wanted the 1976 Greatest Hits album properly re-released as it had a great running order and iconic album cover that many ABBA fans will remember nostalgically and most of the songs don't appear on ABBA Gold or More ABBA Gold, as it's from their first three albums. It did appear on CD as an anniversary edition briefly, but is now very hard to find, and for those outside of Sweden the strange cartoon cover on the front did not attract 100%. The iconic two couples photo was inside which made it easy to miss on record lists.

Maybe one day, as it is one of those records where every track runs well into the next one.

I agree, the typography could've been better. Thanks for pointing that out.
My biggest issue is the song selection: The classic 'Thank You For The Music' is missing. It was a (hit)single in some countries, and it's even on the GOLD album, while 5 songs from Voyage seem too much to me.

I would have chosen a shot of them in white from the Arrival era from 1976/77, they looked their best then for the cover,

For me, my go to ABBA comp is the 2001 Definitive Collection. 37 tracks over 2 discs ranging from People Need Love from ‘72 to Under Attack from ‘82. All the singles plus some choice album tracks such as Eagle and The Visitors.

The only thing left now for abba is unreleased tracks but highly unlikely in the next 50 years

As much as I love ABBA, some kind of Bonus tracks would have made sense. Rumour has it there are two songs left from the Voyage sessions. I also would have preferred a front cover with a current picture or even the picture from the First ten years-edition.

they could have packaged this beautifully for the fans, but as you say, it looks like a rushed job. it has way too much red. how can the £100 price be justified?

So basically, if you have all the albums up to voyage as well as the first 10 years from 1982 you have all the tracks. For me the last ABBA album was the first ten years, until of course voyage, anything else after that was the record label and ABBa themselves cashing in.

I wished a re-release of the "The First Ten Years" back again on LP/CD. Specially a Japanese version... For me was "The First Ten Years" last original release in the ABBA era 1982.

I found the loud red cover rather effective and timeless. However I don’t understand why there are several empty ( red) pages in the booklet.
The sound quality of the CDs are excellent.

The poses on the cover of the book are from the series "difficult and uncomfortable poses", I think.

They didn’t include Rock Me which was a major hit here in Australia. It’s almost become a forgotten track.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: this release is for completists only. I’ll stick with my American copy of the 1982 comp, which sounds amazing!

Its truly unfortunate they couldn't have given us at least one new track, even if was a polished up unreleased old one for this set. I would rather have had that as opposed to giving us half of Voyage again.

Typography from the 80s was probably hand made. The new one with the drop shadow is so 90’s. Fonts better be Helvetica and Garamond.
