What if the Treaty of Versailles was Never Signed?

Howdy folks, so, for today's video, in order to free up some time for other projects, I decided to hold another contest. I had an AI text generator come up with prompts for a scenario, had my discord server vote on which one they liked the best, and had them come up with scenarios for that prompt. The prompt for today ended up being "What if the Treaty of Versailles was Never Signed?", and I chose the scenario that I found to be the most interesting. Enjoy!

Remember guys, this is a FAN SCENARIO. If you have complaints about the scenario, or don't think it's realistic, keep in mind that I didn't write this. This video isn't meant to be realistic, it's meant to engage the community.

The USA would not invade or support a second invasion of Germany. They may have, in fact supported Germany in not signing Versailles. Woodrow Wilson did not want any reparations from Germany, In our timeline, the USA didn't even sign the Paris Peace conferences, nor join the League of Nations.

I like the idea, but to be honest there is no way White Russia just randomly decides to go to war with another major power on a whim, they were literally in the middle of a civil war. Also a lot of the expansions into Europe seem a bit odd, as there is no way a heavily weakened Germany could expand into these countries so quickly, especially considering it took them years to recover and that many people would support these countries (especially since as you said Britain and France were very keen to preventing communism spreading)

Japan had already began sending settlers to Siberia during the Allied Intervention in the Russian Civil War but were forced to leave in 1922. I can see this program continuing to a greater extent in this timeline.

this Germa Civil War would take place pretty much the same time the Russian Civil War, which ended in 1922. if the Entente had just "given" those lands to Russia, it would have been an even bloodier war, which would include the Polish-Soviet War.

Wait, no, when the forces advance on Germany, despite genuine efforts to make peace, the Germans would see that they couldn't be reasoned with and push back harder, as it'd no long just be frivolous war that's a lost cause but *instead* a scramble for *survival*

Moreover, the US would *not* approve of continued fighting under *those* circumstances. The war was already rather unpopular with US citizens, so its allies trying to needless drag things out when a reasonable peace could be attained would be unacceptable.

At best, the US would walk away. At worst, the US would threaten intervention.

EDIT: If *the video's take* how is the significantly weakened German government going to not only hold back a Russia with better gear and training than our timeline, but also *take* lands from it? Also, how would Russia be *still* fighting a civil war, yet think they have the resources to spare to conquer somewhere else?

This is definitely one of the weaker conclusions I've seen from this channel.

EDIT2: Oh, right, it's a fan submission. That explains a bit...

We all forget that in 1919 poland was already independent and in 1920 (i think that's when the treaty of Potsdam is signed in this scenario, and with weaker germany polish situacion will be better) poland was strong enougth to fight bougth white and red russians on they're own, so i don't think that it would agree to just be anexed by russia (plus poland had very good relations with france so another country against the terms

Basically this scenario is "What if Germany became communist instead of fascist?"

Reminds me of the senior British commander of the Suez campaign who had broken the Egyptian army and was asked by the British government if he could take Cairo to which he answered. Yes, and what do you want me to do with it then? Equally if the Entente took Germany they really would have no idea of what to do with it but had responsibility for it.

In this scenario Poland would propably become evhen more stronger than in our timline, allies were simpathetic to Poland and helpd it during the Polish Bolshevik war, they would also give Poland more of its claimed land from Germany (Masuria and Upper Sileasia)

The Video was great Josh, but I don’t think that the communist block would be able to expand into Czechoslovakia or Yugoslavia without a war with the west, as both were Allies with France. But I could see Hungary joining the UESR as they had a communist Revolution at the time.

There is a lot here I could criticize, but I think this correctly shows the utter chaos that would have resulted from an Entente invasion. For the new government of Germany, the treaty was the devil they knew. Still, they should have held firm. The U.S. would have refused to take part in an invasion, and the exhausted French and British would have been reluctant to strengthen the hand of the revolutionaries. So they might well have amended the treaty.

In short: no matter how unfair the treaty is, germany always goes “the trial awaits” mode

great, but what if Poland had joined the anti-Comintern pack since the beginning?
IRL, Poland also took a piece of Czechoslovakia
