Why Viktor is My Favorite Character | Arcane

Today I wanted to talk about my favorite video from Arcane, Viktor. This video was really fun to make, and I hope is enjoyable to watch and relatable to other people's experience with the amazing TV show.

Viktor is also my favorite character, someone who was dealt a terrible hand from his very birth but wouldn't let it stop him from chasing his dreams. And also a bit of a gray morality: he wants to use progress for the benefits of others but isn't against going against the rules or going too far, but is ready to stop and accept his death the moment his research cause harm. I hope they will keep him gray and not go full on villain in S2 because complex characters (like Jinx and Silco) are better than cartoonish evil ones. Great video

I like how they portrayed his dedication. He didn't care about Skye at all until it was too late for her. But after that the reality of his sitution kicks in.

...Oh boy. I have so many comments, and basically all are spoilers. Victor's story in this show just feels like this cold shard at times. I really wish someone would shower him with kindness and friendship, and actually fought some of the battles that Victor doesn't. Like, in the speech scene I had an immense desire to grab him by the arm, bring a chair and put him by Tali's side. He's constantly left behind? Not only because of his legs. He's always in the shadows, even among his peers, since childhood, and the awful thing is that he grew accepting of it, so he doesn't realise when someone **actually sees him**. As Victor. Not the "second lab guy" or the "one with a limp". Well. _Steel your hearts_ .

To add an extra layer of tragedy to Viktor's tale that I don't think many people realise is that Skye is the same little girl that was so curious about little Viktor and his boat

i also saw him as a side character and loved that they'd bothered to give him a disability that seemed vaguely realistic and that they'd bothered to animate well. and i was hoping he could just stay as he is in his sassy self. and then i realised they were really going to put him through the wringer. and i'm tentatively looking forward to the machine herald and i think they actually could pull off an interesting transformation and breakdown of the relationship with jayce but i'm also scared they will make the disabled character into a monster.
