My mother's landline is basically attacked by hundeds of spoofed local numbers every week. Nothing effectively stops them.

I wish there was a setting to reject all calls coming from outside the US. That would be very useful for those of us with no friends, relatives, or business associates not living here!

And now they are spoofing local numbers. I had an Indian scammer call my home and the caller id showed my father's cell phone number. If the government can't do anything about these robocallers, why am I paying them taxes?

One thing you can try is when they call, answer and then play fax machine data screeching sounds over the phone. You can do this with just a microcassette recorder or some other recording device. the device has to be quick draw like you hit a button and you get the sound.

I LOVE the Mr. Number app. ever since I installed it on my phone it was like turning off a light switch on spam calls. Never got one ever again.

Five years later from this video, I'm getting calls almost every day more than once, so many different numbers, and if I answered they hang up!

I have heard that ATT & Verizon have the technology to stop all this, but they just don't. I assume they are profiting from the problem. I dream of owning an inexpensive device to send a spike upstream to the robot which obliterates it.

These calls are made by a computer generated program that dials numbers in a specific area. The only way I've found to keep them from bothering me is when I get a call I don't recognize, I immediately answer then hang up and don't allow it to go to voice mail. The computer thinks its a dead number and flags it. If you don't answer and allow to go to voice mail, the computer knows it's a valid number...I can't say for certain my way works, but my spam calls have been reduced drastically.. I've only received two calls in the last six months.

what I don't like with Mr number it goes to my voice mail therefore it tells them I didn't answer so call back and my phone will ring twice b4 it picks up and sometimes it's not spam or scanners and gets cut off sent to voicemail
