I’m from the deepest part of the southern US and say, “What’s her/his face?” literally all the time 😂

I had a reading slump from March-Aug 2020 where almost literally all I did was watch Criminal Minds, so I empathized deeply with this video. As a mood reader, I love this idea and enjoyed this video very much.

I love this idea for getting hopefully unslumping, or avoiding one you see coming. I'm thinking The Moonsteel Crown is something I'd enjoy very much.
Btw, I am loving that shade of color on the bedroom wall, and thinking to myself how wonderful it would be to wake with the new sun glow. There's this perfect moment when the sun rises, and the rays touch the wooded area near my home... I swear it's magic!

I feel like I need to incorporate this myself when picking a new book to read. As a mood reader, I often struggle to pick something, so this would be perfect for me!

This book sampling blog was brilliant! It’s a fantastic way to give first impressions. Looking forward to the outcome review of which books helped you the most out of the reading slump. 📖

this is such a good idea for picking books! I find that i often try to pick a book and push my way thru it whether or not im vibing with it, so doing a 'sampler' read sounds fun.

unrelated: have you ever done a plant tour of your place? i'm way jealous of your lovely calathea thats been behind you recently

I recently visited Edinburgh and also bought Duck Feet from Toppings as I wanted to buy something by a Scottish author! It's great to hear that this has been heavily endorsed to you! One of the big ones I'm looking forward to reading this summer.

This was such a fun video and I’m oddly proud I convinced you to read some books I either have read and loved or just believe to be Lianne books. 😂 I can’t wait for the vlog.

Also, I group my books too! My haul have not been separated on my shelves yet but they are my Edinburgh babies. I had such a blast with you and Harry. Love you guys 💕

I read A Lesson in Vengeance recently, and have thoughts. I can't wait to hear what you think about it.

Thanks Liann this video is fun. This happens to me too. I’ll read something really cool. When it’s over I feel lost. Then I have to walk around my apartment for awhile. Eventually I’ll settle on something. It’s because my books are my friends. I really like the color on your bedroom wall.💫💫💫🫧🫧🫧

I always love your videos Lianne! Most of my library or book hauls consist of books or authors that you have recommended so thanks for that! One book that I found by chance this year was a queer Y.A called She Gets The Girl by Rachael Lippencott and Alyson Derrick. It was easy to read and I loved it. It was the type of book I would have liked to have read when I was college age but unfortunately those types of books didn't exist for young adults 20 years ago. I'm glad things seem to be looking up for you. 😊

I always have Kobo and my local library pages open when I watch your videos. I love thrillers and crime novels but rarely read them again because I know all the twists. The cover of "A Lesson in Vengence" is lovely! The library has a copy (not the same cover - boo!) and I can't wait to read it. "She and I" and "Duck Feet" aren't available at the library or on Kobo, so I may have to see if Book Depository has them. Thank you so much for introducing me to so many books and authors I would never have found otherwise. You're a gem!

Loved this. So interesting the way you picked apart the first chapters. Do you think about the prose and writing style as you're reading? Or is that at the end when you're thinking over it?

If you're interested, I like graphic novels as slump busters. Easy to get into, and have that accomplished feeling of finishing a thick book relatively quickly.

I love this! It's how I usually pick a new book when I don't know what to start with, though I'm thoroughly in reading slump town right now so nothing seems to hit right 😒 I read in the dream housr this month and it actually put me in this reading slump, because it blew my socks off and I'm still reeling, so I think it was a good call not to pick that one up!
