Hi guys!

I decided to give these six books a try before deciding if I want to unhaul them or not.

How do you dealwith books that have been sitting on you shelf for too long or books that you have lost interest in?

Pauline :)

I think you will find A Handful of Dust a worthwhile and enjoyable read. The story has a few wonderful twists. You are correct there is also quite a bit of the social satire for which Waugh is well known. When the novel’s focus shifts from Lady Brenda to her husband, Waugh’s skills as a storyteller really come in to play.
Tess is another favorite book of mine. It is a sad story but so well told. I don’t think anyone picks up a Hardy book expecting sweetness and light. It would definitely be a good choice for Victober.
Happy reading 📖👀📚

I do this regularly because it drives me nuts to have books sitting on my shelf unread for so long. I pretty much can’t do that now because I’m under 20 unread books, but with the mood I’ve been in, it’s still gonna take forever to get through them all!

I love this idea! I used to have such a hard time getting rid of books, even if I didn't think I'd read them, but this is the perfect fix for that!

These tags are so smart! I am so nervous to ever do it myself. So kudos to you! you are one strong lady. Neverwhere has always intrigued me

This is such a brilliant idea, I don't think I have any books I want to do this for but it was fun watching you do this. I agree about war books though, I bloody can't stand them. I really like the title 'All The Light We Cannot See' I know it's been everywhere but the title has just stuck in my head. I'm glad you liked the John Steinbeck book and the rest, I was starting to feel bad for you as it seemed like you were just getting dud books! I don't think I have ever unhauled a book, I get round to them eventually!

I've been wondering for a while if I'd love Neverwhere as much if I read it now. I might have gotten too impatient for that kind of humour. I loved it 15 years ago, though. And Richard is painted as a bit of an idiot on purpose, and he is completely clueless and helpless in London Below almost to the end. The female main character constantly outshines him in all respects – much to his frustration, because he's trying so hard to find a way to impress her, but he fails every time. 😆

Historical fiction is something I'm not all that interested in, but I'm still very interested in All The Light We Cannot See

I've done a similar unhaul, too bad I haven't thought to film, it's very interesting :)
All the Light We Cannot See is the one I loved a lot, but I understand why the content might be off-putting, it's not the easiest book to read.
I read around 100 pages of Neverwhere before giving it up as well :p Good riddance.
Added Steinbeck's novel to my tbr!
