*Okay, maybe not all of them exactly, but definitely a bunch. Here's a review of a few different editions of the science fiction classic novel 𝘋𝘶𝘯𝘦. Maybe it'll help you make a decision on which one you should buy!

(Sorry about the audio glitches throughout the video... I hope they aren't too distracting!)

my earnest hope is that with all this Dune Fever, publishers will put out some attractive/classic looking hardcovers for Dune Messiah

I got the special edition box set of the first trilogy because I saw a copy of the first book and thought it was far too beautiful to not look at. And the set was on sale at the time! Enthralling to look at, even more enthralling to read!

When I first read God Emperor of Dune, I had just read the prior three books in the recent editions, and GEoD was a vintage, used one. The change from new to old gave my experience a mystical feeling, since the many differences in print added to the changes in the world across the thousands of years. Like reading from an old journal *wink wink

Purchased the Ace deluxe edition a day after I saw the film, a BEAUTIFUL book. Thanks for info here on the other editions, you have me pretty reassured about the edition I got

Really wanted to invest in one of these, but I didn't know which one. Thank you so much for the amazing and in-depth review!

Thx for your thorough comparison of all the editions, and covering the aesthetics as well as the practical features of each. Helps me decide which print i want to buy. There’s not many other videos out there with this specific info. Also, i didn’t know that about e-readers.

I just found your channel on utube this evening. I am glad that you examined the books as objects. This is really important to bibliophiles such as myself. Readability and 'hand' is part of the 'mystique' of books, imo. Thank you so much. I've been putting off purchasing that last one with the blue pages but this clinches it for me. As I collect many other vintage books (Easton & Franklin, for example), the look and feel of a book is very important to me. Thanks again.

Purchased the Ace Deluxe Edition after seeing this video and am pretty happy. Dune is one of my favorite novels and I‘ve read (and listened to) it a few times. I absolutely loved the Denis Villeneuve film and am looking forward to the conclusion.
Though I have yet to read beyond Children of Dune. I dunno, the later books in the series don’t really interest me that much, although the story sounds awesome.

Anyway, cheers and I‘d love to see a review of your Folio Society Esition!

The edition I wish some publisher would reprint (and reprint in a beautiful hardback edition) is the 1978 Illustrated Dune with artwork by John Schoenherr. I just love that old artwork, modern art doesn't seem as good to me. 😀

Just found my dad’s old collection of all the books, four are the same editions, the rest are all different. I was just looking out of sheer curiosity if there was a video covering some of the editions, this is perfect!

I heard 13:17 and had a little jump since I actually frequent the Montclair Bookcenter. I love that little shop!

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS! I just read the B&N edition before seeing the movie. As beautiful as it is, I was surprised and disappointed to see so many typos! I joined a Dune Facebook group to ask for a good looking, reasonably priced edition without typos. My member ship remains pending but thanks to your video, my question has been answered! The Ace deluxe edition is the one for me. Looking forward to watching your Folio Society review. Thanks again.

I never really thought about it before this video but the 2000s mass paperback really is constructed very well. The spine is so malleable and the the pages are very smooth/fluid. I'm glad I got it back then before they shifted to the new printing.

loved your review! i got the other paperback, the 50th anniversary edition. highly recommended, it's definitely much better than the mass paperback edition and less expensive than the hardbacks.

I love my Folio Society edition - one perk of living in the U.K. is that folio editions become mildly less expensive (when postage is factored in)

I didn’t read all the comments to see if it was mentioned but the new version with the orange sand cover, there is a wider version of it. I passed on the narrow version and I’m glad I did.

My father has the ace deluxe edition. I just recently bought the current mass market paperback edition in a box set including the whole first trilogy. I love the cover art of those books.

1:46 small correction. That's the mass market paperback, not the larger trade paperback.
