Pikachu EX has ROARED back into the metagame thanks to the power of Electabuzz (Mythical Island) and Raichu (Genetic Apex)! The first person I saw building the deck like this was Gqqq, so huge shoutout there! Electabuzz gives the deck a MASSIVE answer for opposing Druddigon starts, blowing up backline mons, while the power of Raichu lets you answer anything big that gets into play!

Thanks for the video! Glad to see you are still over here, since I liked your videos but I recently gave up on Snap, so I was glad to see this in my recommended!

Raichu is something I really appreciate for a few reasons. I always thought Electric felt awkward because they didn't really have any "big hitters" that could swing particularly large (outside of the pure RNG of Zapdos ex), so Raichu fixes that problem for me. I also love the Raichus and Dedenne because... well, I don't actually own a Zapdos ex.

Idk if it’s better or not but I like running one of each Raichu. There’s been times where the bench wide damage limits their options and comes in handy. Also he doesn’t lose energy so you can transfer from one Raichu to the other.

I found zapdos helpful vs fighting type decks as it isnt weak against it

I started trying to make a new Raichu deck and it evolved into this. I love it so much. Being able to surprise Buzz surge for a win is so fun.

Dedenne could kill Moltres, 10+20 from lightning weakness.

About the zapdos, i think is kinda of a throw not including 2 of them. You are dealing with insta lose to both pikachu and golem/fighting (and worse matchup to moltress based decks) which should amount to 30% of the field (dendene is also a liab8lity into m2 since that deck is running at least one gio). And dendene is not really adding way too much.... on the matchups that zapdos would be bad dendene gives you a 50 to 25% of win in a bad game, but played right also gives you 32% in any matchup. This 18% are relevant, but they just come into play when your main gameplan didnt work meanwhile zapdos gives a competitive advantage in all matches it is relevant.
Also, and probably more important, zapdos gives u early agression when both you and your opp didnt draw your main gameplans early which is the main advantage of the pika deck, its consistency.
Said that, i love this deck, and is the one i am more confident on bring into this meta rn

One thing to watch out for is a greninja fully powered up and them using a leaf to drop back their drug and then ninja shot and attacking the Electabuzz

Electa has to hit it 3 times to ko it - so it isn’t worth going after if there are easier targets

So the question is do the carp decks still run blue to stop carp being KO’d by hitmon or does this supplant it and you drop blue for something else

I feel so sad to not having 2nd raichu... you really need it, I cried so many times that my "replacement" was not a raichu at hand to knock out this EX they put in front of my lineup.

This is what I run, been working really well for me. I dont like running two surges since its a supporter thats only used late game and most of the time to finish off the game too, so dont want a second one just dead in my hand, one has been working out so well for me

I don't like this tbh. Pika EX wants all basics. We need that bench full immediately. No time to be bricking on drawing evolutions when you don't have the basic. I never liked Pika EX with Zebstrika or Electrode either. 8 basics, 2 Pika EX, 2 Zapdos EX, 2 Zapdos regular, 2 electabuzz or dedene. Run evos and you lose hella consistency.
