I think you nailed it on the head. It's a BACKLOG ANNIHALATOR. People shouldn't expect this to run the newest games, this is perfect for games that have been sitting in your library for a few years. It contributes to it being such a comfortable experience imo.

I just got my OLED 2 days ago. It's my first PC handheld, and I'm really impressed.
I'm coming from a high end desktop PC and I'm suprised how well even some of the newer AAA releases run on it (depending on how much optimization the devs but into the game).
The thing that gets me the most is that I can play all my favourite AAA games from 5-10 years ago, anywhere and anytime I want now, without sitting at my desk, which sometimes just doesn't feel good after a long day at work or university

To add to the perspective, I've owned a Steam Deck for about 2 years now (originally LCD then the OLED when it came out) and I have no plans on "upgrading" or switching to any other PC handheld. It does everything I want and more. I know for a fact I'll be satisfied until Valve decides to make a true successor. Great video as always dude!

Just got my OLED. It’s gonna replace my Xbox and PlayStation. It gives me the flexibility and power of a PC hand-held, with the smooth UI and intuitive design of a console.

A Steam Deck is also a great companion device for a high end gaming PC. Both devices have access to your Steam library and most of the games on Steam you can play on Steam Deck and using Steam cloud you can put down your Steam Deck and pick up where you left off on your gaming PC. Take for example Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, it's optimized to run well (for a handheld) on Steam Deck so you can play while on the go then when you get back home you can continue right where you left off and crank all the settings to the max and experience the best way to play FF7 Rebirth. It's such a great time to be a PC gamer.

This guy nailed it when he said it’s a backlog beast. I’m a new father in late 2023. It’s enabled me to keep gaming while I have a newborn baby and now toddler to deal with. It is then immeasurably beneficial to me being able to still game Now into my 40s.

People seem to forget that the Steam Deck is not only great for good games, but that it is designed for adults. It fits my hands perfectly. I can’t use a XBox controller very long due to the right stick being down so low. The steam deck is Fantastic for my hands. I can play endlessly with no pain.

A used LCD Steam Deck is such a steal right know

Not enough people talk about game streaming from a gaming PC to the deck. Throw moonlight and Apollo on your deck/PC and you got the best of both worlds: insane PC power with deck ergonomics.

Phenomenal video, and the first one I ever watched from you. I legitimately thought you were a channel with 100k+ subs, insane quality, narrative, editing, etc. I will definitely check out the 2 videos that were recommended at the end of this one. Cheers! :)

Just got my Oled, I had to sell my previous pc to afford it (dont worry, it was just a tiny bit faster than the steam deck), but I sold it to my brother so he could start his "pc-building-journey." Win - Win situation :D

I love my Steam Deck OLED. Mainly stream my games that struggle to run using Remote Play. Still runs smoothly.

Dont forget that valve supports customization and repairs, they teach you how to fix or replace stuff. While the competition dunno care. So having a steam deck gives you more security on your money. If you are a pc gamer or computer geek this will be useful for future proof steam deck and make it last longer.

Picked up a like new 1tb OLED Steam Deck a few days ago. Havent been playing any video games in the last 6 or 7 years and its been fun catching up! So many retro game options in the store as well. Got a bunch of accessories for my deck on the way!

You just saved me $700. Was about to buy a used Win 4 because I wanted a smaller handheld and thought I wanted more power for PC games but tbh, I love my deck oled LE’s display, ergonomics and I treat the gaming on it as a backlog machine for older titles. I prefer to play the latest and greatest on my beefy gaming PC. I don’t need all that power in a handheld with heat issues, worse battery life and Windows.

steam deck has allowed me to try out so many older and some recent indie titles that I'm very glad I got to experience and the peace of mind of having valves customer support just helps me not worry at all
