This is how you make the ultimate guacamole recipe at home.

Ingredients:
Avocado
Serrano Peppers
Red Jalapeños
Red Onion
Cilantro
Lime
Salt

Recipe:
1. Peel and pit your avocados and add them to a large bowl. Use a spoon or fork to mash until you're at your desired consistency.

2. Finely chop a Serrano pepper, red onion, jalapeños, and cilantro and add them into the bowl. Sprinkle a pinch of salt and a squeeze of fresh lime juice.

3. Mix in your ingredients until well combined, but be careful not to over-mix.

4. Serve as a dip with tortilla chips or as a flavorful addition to your favorite Mexican dishes.

Guacamole is not supposed to be a complicated recipe. Keep it simple and you'll be surprised how much better it turns out.

And for the love of guacamole everyone. When you store it, use plastic wrap and press the plastic all the way down. Plastic touching the guacamole and all. Let no air touch and it'll last.

I'm really glad she said don't over mix it because part of the reason for a very long time I never liked guacamole as I always had the stuff that was completely pureed into some sort of paste I like the idea of it being more chunky with texture.

A lot of times, I just do onions, cilantro, lime, and salt. It's extremely simple but so delicious. Just about impossible to screw up too

Been eating guacamole since the late sixties, born & raised in the SW, I've never found a place for tomatoes in my guacamole, everything else yes. Tomatoes are for salsa. Old school add a little sour cream or crema and/or mayo perhaps, depending on the flavor and texture you want.

'the older i get, the easier the better'

Couldn't agree more.

And for me, the older i got, the more appreciation i had for cilantro. I just wish it's easier to grow or can last longer in the fridge.

Aguachile is simple as well. You just need cilantro, jalapeño or serrano(depending on heat you want), water, salt, and lime. Toss the shrimp in there, and cut some cucumber and red onions. You could probably add it to the menu, it’s incredibly simple. 👌

Take note people. GUACAMOLE DOES NOT HAVE TOMATOS IN IT. Thats one way you can judge an authentic Mexican place. Check the guac for tomatos.

I love simplicity. This morning I had two leftover jars of super thin sliced jalapeños and onions, so I threw some Celtic salt and butter on the skillet, some of the onions with the juice and jalapeños with the seed, cracked three eggs on top and popped the yolks to make it semi scrambled. Chopped up some cilantro on top and ate with sourdough toast. Papi, tht shit was slamming

Another tip if youre using tomatoes in your guac- fold it in last so the tomato doesnt turn to mush. Also cut out the core with the seeds

Up in Canada, many areas it is so expensive to get avocado. When I was in Texas, super cheap. One thing I miss from there.

If the simpler the better, the recipe I came up with duplicating my local Mexican restaurant as a youngster in central L.A. is mashed avocados, about a tablespoon of sour cream per two avocados, salt to taste, granulated garlic to taste, and a dash of Tapatio or similar to taste.
