1. Don't be afraid to make mistakes and to experiment with things you don't know
2. Read your error messages
3. Work on projects
4. Have fun with what you're doing

I just have to admire how articulate this boy is. I am a 50 years old non-programmer, and I actually find as useful (or more) the way he explains the content than the content itself. A bright future ahead for Tim.

Tip #4 memorization is your friend, but cheat sheets do help.
I've had times where I racked my brain trying to remember a specific line of code that I should have known.
As we get older our minds become hardwired and we tend to forget a lot more than we retain.
So if you find yourself banging your head on the keyboard trying to remember that one snippet of code that would make your code work flawlessly, just remember...

If you wrote it down somewhere, then you can easily refer back to it to get that awe so delightful outcome you were expecting.

And if you don't have it written down, then I'd suggest you write it once you find it again ;)

I do this repeatedly and as often as I possibly can. You aren't cheating when your learning what it does. So a cheat sheet can help you remember. Just as they do for me.

I hope this helped someone out there.

I've been binging your videos trying to learn Kivy and it's remarkable how clear your explanations are. Thanks Tim! You've teached me a lot!

I recommend sticking to one language and going through with understanding the entire thing. I also recommend the websites with interactive coding. Then once you feel like you understand some of the basic core mechanics try and see what you can make with what you know! Always look for problems that you could solve with a program and try making things that you enjoy, like board games.

Dropped out of pre-engineering years ago, whoops! But recently got my CompTIA A+ and Network+ certs. Still looking for that dream job though. One thing I realized lately is that I'm way more interested in programming! Building stuff with code is just so cool. That's why I'm diving into the world of computer programming now.

The mistakes one is crucial. I’ve learnt more from my mistakes than any tutorial has thought me

Awesome segment, Tim-- I learned a little (as I am not a tech-minded person) You have a authenticity that cannot be beat.

I almost forgot to add more thing which is very important... one of the best ways to learn something is actually to teach... it means that if you were a teacher, how would you teach something to someone?

If you already know the answer, you know what to do about it...

Tech with tim and the cyber mentor are really helpful, Thank you gents. I am learning the basics of python right now but I am quite slow, but I plan to dedicate sometime and actually learn to write programmes. 🥳

One good tip I have is copy projects then add things of my own. This is good because I have to understand each part of the project to add your own things.

I like your point in creating your own projects. It gives me a lot of dedication to study again from fundamentals.

Great video Tim! I'd love to see some examples of you analysing error messages and your thought process on how you debug things. Thanks :)

I'm very passionate about coding and I'm also loving your channel.
I've recommended this video for a discord progamming community, I hope they can extract something about this video as a message to keep up with what they like to do.

Tim thank you very much for this video. Now because of you I have a sense of direction in programming. I now know that I need to enjoy what I do not slave my self and work hard. So now I will find something in programming that I will love to do and start there.
