My favourite is 28mm but I'll take 35mm. I think it's an easier lens to frame up, you really can just point and shoot at stuff without thinking and it looks good. With wider you have to try a bit more to compose everything so it doesn't look cluttered or weird. With tele you have to get back and have a good amount of distance and layers or it just looks flat. 35-50mm is definitely the golden zone for good photos every time.

Haven't used 35mm but i definitely liked 50mm more than 28mm

50 mm in full frame replicates standard human eye's focul length. 35 mm in apsc and 24 mm in micro 4/3rd does the same. These are also the cheapest lenses. So I wd like to stick with it.

Although the 50mm in my apsc body which is equivalent yo an 80mm in full frame gives me the perfect portrait focul length..

I prefer the 35/85mm combo
than a 50mm alone

so 35mm for me 🤗

Actually 42mm is the closest focal to the human eye. I would pick anything between 35 to 50. Thanks

35-40mm allday. 28 distort up close and 50 is too tight

the human eye is not 50mm. it's close but not

If i have 90mm, which better i choose? 50mm / 35mm for full frame camera?

Close one eye and look at something. Then, raise your camera with a 50mm lens on it and look at it again. Your eye's field of view is clearly larger than the 50mm field of view. 35mm looks closer to one eye's field of view.

35mm. The 40 is really nice for movies but you don’t have that kind of control when taking pictures. Also you might find yourself in spaces too small to back up.
28mm is just gimmicky. Yes it has a nice look and it’s place. But I’m not interested in a stylized perspective which this lens will inevitably give me. The 35mm is also not so wide that shooting things that are further away doesn’t make sense. The 28mm is too wide for that.

I have a 40mm. But I'd like a 35mm

I might be wrong but I thought the 35 was the normal eye and the 50 was just pretty much affordable

What about the same on an apsc body?
35mm or 50mm?

So neither lenses match the field of view of the human eye by a long shot. The 50mm when you look through the viewfinder and then leave one eye open will have nearly identical size. So objects appear the same size. That's why it is called a normal lenses.

Perspective is a function of distance to the subject, focal length frames that subject at any given distance.

Our eyes see the world in an ultra wide field of view of 130° or so. So nowhere close to the FOV of a 35mm or 50mm.

It’s only the 50 1.8 that’s known as the nifty fifty as it tends to be the easily affordable good option

You are wrong about field of view. The human eye has a field of view of 180 degrees

The sensitivity of kids nowadays are off the rails. Blew my mind eveytime. Being sarcastic here.
