For those freaking out over the point of this story and the video, just watch the full podcast. If you don't want to watch, here's a brief summary:
This was a competition between the three hosts (all relatively well known names within the watch industry). The competition was to find the best dive watch but they all had different price points. One had to do it for under 1000, one for under 5000 and one for under 10000. They were all really clear in the boutiques that they were doing a competition and not buying. Most of the people in the boutiques already knew who they were.
Andrew here got the "under 5000" category and found this watch, which, at the time, was a very sought after and hard to find. He pretty much won the competition with that.
Remember, they just had to find the watch, not to buy it. So, he was just messing with the other hosts that he'd just spontaneously dropped 4800 out of nowhere and bought the watch. It makes more sense in the light-hearted context of the podcast.

I lucked out and found k e kn the Omega site. Ordered it and paid and got the notification it was being shipped. Less than an hour later they were sold out again. I love it. Sometimes it’s all about timing.

My wife snagged that green for me!!! We walked into Omega in King of Prussia…. And they had it waiting for me…. They got me good… I had no idea it was waiting…and it is all I have worn in January…… your gonna regret not getting it
