The main difference between Sachin and Kohli is Sachin never took this much rest or lack of preparation before his retirement! Kohli does this every time, before T20 World Cup he took rest more than others before Sri Lanka series he took rest more than others and all these matches he failed as per his standards. If you are playing for India you just cannot play just by your stratum. If you are playing for India then do justice for that spot. I am not questioning Virat kohli's dedication and his big fan but in the same time I am so much disappointed by him. I don't think legends don't need time to prepare don't need in a practice session to get into the groove. Look at cristiano ronaldo or lani messi they don't miss this kind of practice sessions of their also legend and still striving for more than more ... I just wish Kohli to get some score at least some respectable score in this Bangladesh series. Chennai is not a happy ground to make more runs as it favours the spinners but but I am not sure whether he will get success in the Bangladesh series I am very much doubtful and I will not be surprised if he scores two or three ducks.

Well, Harsha, the team selection seems alright. There are 3 wicket keepers that can also bat. It is fair that Patidar is not in the team as he just couldn't get himself up there even after repeated gametime against the Brits. KL needs to go big this time, or he may miss the flight to Australia. Not to worry, Bollywood awaits him. His focus seems to have drifted quite a bit. Somehow, Virat playing masterful innings doesn't seem enticing anymore. Virat has been patchy in his scoring, and age could be a factor even if he is fit. We can only wait and see. Nice to see Bumrah and Shami back in the team. Also, it's good to see Akash Deep in the mix. He can deliver. Somehow, Washy has missed the bus here. I would like to see him play at the Gabba. Hopefully, he gets a chance. He is a fighter who can get Team India past the finish line. Hope Yash Dayal is able to show his true game.

The qs I have are:

Are the selectors thinking of a single player performing multiple possible roles? For instance Gill and Rahul both as substitute opener and middle order players? Would that be a good experiment in test cricket?

2. Are India creating a pace bowling supply line keeping variety in mind? Or are they just including a lot of bowlers who bowl the same kind of stuff?

3. Have they suddenly discarded Mukesh? He was recently looked at as an all format bowler. In seaming conditions, his line and length bowling has been very effective.
