Just. a reminder that while you can get a Lexus RX or other older luxury vehicle for around $20, 000, when it comes time to repair or maintain it, you're still fixing a $50-60K vehicle. Parts and servicing will still be expensive.

Our past two cars have been LEXUS RX hybrids and they have been exactly as you've described. Luxurious, comfortable and extremely dependable. And shooting for one about ten years old is right on. The bonus is that it will have the style of one that seems much newer. Love our Lexus RX!

We lucked out during Covid to get a four year old red ‘17 RAV4 XLE FWD for $ 21000 🇨🇦 one year ago with 46 000 km, off lease. It’s been a wonderful choice.

I have a 2020 Honda HRV Sport AWD and it's a great little vehicle. Small on the outside and very spacious on the inside. My wife loves it.

Thanks for sharing this information. I’m looking for a great small reliable SUV. I’m going with the #1 Mazda CX-5. 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾❤️😊👍🏾

My biggest beef, and its a big one, for the CRV is insurance...absolutely through the roof! Honda takes the 3 of the top 10 spots for vehicle break-ins and being stolen in Ontario. And with so many of them on our roads, higher chance of getting into accidents meaning more insurance claims. The Forester and Outback is attractive to me, and I do think the insurance rates should be much lower. CX5 is also attractive, though I wouldn't mind if it was a little bigger but not CX9 size zone. But the Jeep Cherokee Renegade just ticks off my entire list. We will be looking into and test driving each of those choice vehicles later this year, if they are available when we are ready to buy.

What do you think of the Corolla Cross? I know it's not under $20, 000 but is it a good buy?

The Japanese Mazda CX-5 is definitely a great pick, absolutely deserves the #1 spot. Reliable up to 300, 000mi or more, fun to drive, top safety rating, affordable luxury, beautiful, good resale value, it's got me threw all kinds of weather conditions. It's an amazing car. You can't go wrong buying a used Mazda, They are making awesome cars.

Every SUV listed is great and I have taken some for a test drive. I can't decide between the Toyota Rav4 and the Honda CRV. I would also consider getting an even larger SUV like the Pilot or a Highlander, but with gas prices continually rising it would be better to stick with a smaller SUV.

What do you consider reasonably high mileage?

Yeah... about the used car market. This is not a particularly well-timed video.
Also there is the fact that when you finance for used cars, you typically pay a much higher interest rate than going new, meaning that you don't save as much when you consider cost of borrowing, and in some cases you pay _more_ than getting the same car brand new at a near 0% APR.

Love Honda but the HRV has horrible crash test results.
