🌱About Vegan in China
-----------------------------------
I'm Alex, a Canadian living her best vegan foodie life in China! When I moved to Beijing in 2019, everyone told me it would be impossible to maintain my meatless lifestyle... From street-side delights to fancy Michelin finds, my mission is simple: to prove that being vegan in China is not only possible but downright delicious! Whether you're fully vegan or simply a food enthusiast, I welcome you to join me on my adventures chatting with locals and sampling the diverse flavours of authentic Chinese cuisine.

Vegan food in China looks pretty healthy, lots of fruit and veg and healthy protein sources. Yum!

I first tasted the Changsha black stinky tofu in my 2023 China travel. I agree with your assessment on its taste and texture. It had a unique briny taste on top of the spicy hot flavor, and light and soft on the inside.

This channel makes me so happy- I've always wanted to visit or work in China, but there was so little content on being vegan in China !!! I'm so excited to watch all your videos 🩷 and I hope to be able to visit or work after I finish my degree 💓😊

4:34 娭毑, it's a special vocabulary in the Changsha local dialect, it's pronounced as "ngai ji" (in IPA: ŋai tɕi)
The meaning of this word is the same as 奶奶(grandma / father's mother ), so 五娭毑 exactly means Grandma Five

I'm so intrigued to know what stinky tofu smells like (and whether I would like it!) I love all things tofu so I suspect I might.

Eventually I think I may move to Canada. I found all Canadians are super friendly. I love your personality as well as your choice of food. Where would I find you if I travel to China?

Chinese sweets and puddings need to be promoted more!! although i think tang huo lu is sort of maybe trending?? Chinese sweets are virtually unknown and underrated!!! healthy and fresh and naturally sweet!!! not really super processed stuff... all made in front of you

Subbed! Amazing food! I just wish they had a separate area for frying that wasn't contaminated with animal juices. :( I also worry about things in sauces mostly because most people aren't aware of veganism vs vegetarian, esp at most chinese restaurants I go to in the US.

Your Chinese is very good, as well as how you can eat spicy taste. 👍

Really cool channel ! Subbed! Respect for finding vegan food in china. Does the cross contamination bother you though because those pans look like they are pretty wet with meat fluids.
