The true story and public divorce of Ian Campbell, 11th Duke of Argyll, and Margaret Campbell, Duchess Of Argyll, has been turned into a mini-series for Amazon Prime Video starring Claire Foy and Paul Bettany.
STORY: Actors Foy and Bettany go head to head in the film, but both said their allegiance is with Margaret.
“They both treat each other pretty badly in their own ways and engage in not very adult behavior. But I think ultimately, Ian represents and is part of a system that allows the treatment of women like that to continue,” said Foy.
The divorce battle topped tabloids headlines in the 1960s with “accusations of forgery, theft, violence, drug-taking, secret recording and bribery.”
“A Very British Scandal” has already aired in the U.K. on the BBC and will begin streaming on Amazon on April 22.
