I have a question (my knowledge of sword fighting is limited, but I have done some stick sparring before):

It seems the contender in black does not even use the guard where the tip of the blade is pointed downwards (is there a name for this?). I found this to be the most useful block for stick sparring, as it covers not only the top, but with minor adjustment of the wrist position also the left side (as a right-handed person). The fighter in partially red is doing this very well.
