You can buy alcohol, up to 4, 7% in every shop. Higher procent you go to Vinmonopolet, all over the country but most where more people live.

Brown cheese is not a snack, you have to put it on a slice of bread with butter under. It taste so good if you have strawberry jam on the top of the cheese. 😊

Urge is a Norwegian soda, but it was briefly sold as Surge in the US by Coca-Cola after the massive success it had in Norway. It's sort of a cult classic still, and has had several revivals in the US.

Also, the ring under the cap has always been there, for sealing (it's not the ring keeping the cap on), but the fact that the cap stays on the bottle after unscrewing is a new thing and not exclusive to Norway. Several European countries do the same.

How to consume traditional Norwegian brown cheese: Use high quality whole grain bread, spread some (real) butter on it, some hearty slices of brown cheese, and some jam on top. I prefer raspberry, but strawberry works great as well. :)

Fun fact about the salt sild, malaco the company is swedish so it's not really a local norwegian candy, and Urge was sold all over the world in the mid 90's and was not really that popular around the world but here in norway we loved it so much they never stopped making it here, non stop is nothing like skittles but more like a dark chocolate version of smarties, also brown cheese is not a candy or a snack we use it as a condement on bread or waffles with raspberry or strawberry jam..

Urge;
It was originally launched in Norway as Urge, and was so popular that it was released in several European countries, and in the US it went by the name Surge. It was Coca-Cola's attempt to compete with Pepsi's "mountain dew". However, it never got popular in any country outside of Norway, so they discontinued selling it some years later. It was even discontinued here in Norway. But approximately 10 years later it got reintroduced to the Norwegian people. When a facebook group who called themselves "fans of Urge" managed to convince the brewery to start selling it again. But except for the stores here in Norway, you can actually find Surge in some freestyle machines at Burger King in the US. Coca-cola reintroduced it there in 2018.

Fløtemyseost, that light brown cheese you got there are the one we start with as kids. That or prim, which is a kind of spreadable brown cheese and a lot milder! Most Norwegian eat the G35 Gudbrandsdalsost, it's a middle tree sweet goat and cowsmilk cheese. But you also have sæter and stølstype brown cheese witch is very dark and a sweet tangy flavour. When you learn to enjoy it.. 😋😋

Fun fact: if you make a waffle with butter and brown cheese, you have made a "Gongjarnkak med ganklabb", a name 99% of Norwegians doesn't understand 😂 It's a very local name, but if you ask for it at a gas station you might be lucky thanks to truckers spreading the name around.

Japp and Mars is kinda similar but have a key difference,
Mars uses a core of nougat while Japp uses a core of chocolate meringue.
this makes the Japp more fluffier inside than Mars, Japp also got a thicker coating of chocolate outside so it don't crack as easily as Mars and leak out the caramel inside

Great tasting. Its a crime for Norwegians when other people compare «Kvikk lunsj» to Kit Kat. Kvikk lunsj (translated to quick lunch) was launched in 1937 and its so much better. Norwegian chocolate is not as sweet as most other chocolate, but more smooth and creamy tasting, more natural. «Non stop» is way better than Skittles. You need to eat several at the same time. Smash is unique and good. Its impossible to not eat only a couple, when you start the bag is quickly empty 🥴

Villa Farris as it was called before is my favorite soda. Its not limonade, its was previously called champagne soda (until it wasnt allowed to use the word champagne with soda anymore), so recently, they have changed the name to fruit flavor, but it is exactly the same taste as before.

The Smash is actually a chocolate covered Bugle. Bugle was sold in the 80's maybe even 90's im not sure. Bugle got discontinued but after some years Norway came out with Smash and they been a hit ever since they came out.

Those 4 primes are the only primes they sell in Norway so you found all of them. ;)
