Minor point: did Churchill came up with that? I do recall Trotsky, and Hitler both had their own visions of a united Europe. Kant 150 years prior was describing this as well.

Other interesting fact the Benelux region was also the origins of the Franks that created the Frankish /corolingian empire that split in to West fanciona, lotheringia and east franconia . that would later form France . Benelux italy and germany . the founding members of the EEC . later EU.
