My son died one week ago, it was his favorite song, it was his phone ring. he was 41 years old. he just got his life right with the lord. I guess the Lord needed to take him now. I am his mom and I miss him, please lord give me strength to except your will.

My "step"father Richard was the greatest man I've ever known. He loved my mom and her 3 crazy kids as his own for years without anything in return until we were old enough to realize how lucky we were to have such a great man in our lives. He taught us to love Jesus, be decent people, work hard, and take care of each other. He had a band and also taught us so much about music. After 30 years of being married to my mom, he passed away in 2020. My siblings and our spouses wrote his eulogy and made sure this song, Simple Man, was the 1st heard by everyone in the church who attended. He was the greatest man. I am so fortunate to have had 30 years of his time on earth being my dad.

My son was 21 when he passed away. His two sisters picked their songs to be played and this was the song I chose to play at his funeral. It couldn't have been any more perfect. There were probably 250 people that attended and there wasn't a dry eye in the chapel on that day. Many thanks to Lynard Skynyrd for a song that has so much meaning to me. You Rock!!
