Out of everything, DQ 1&2 is the one I expect but I’d love to hear anything about DQ XII and whatever Chrono Trigger related.

Also throw in a huge surprise that Final Fantasy XVII is in development for the Switch 2. I don’t expect it but it’d definitely be a wow factor to have a new mainline entry on a Nintendo system for the first time since 1994.

I don't even want an FF9 remake. Modern Square Enix would definitely butcher it. The original game is a masterpiece and holds up perfectly. The only thing that could benefit being changed is speeding up the battle system a bit.

Perfect example: FF6 in HD 2D? Easy money but they wont

Xenogears HD 2D? Easy money but they wont.

I forgot how quiet SquareEnix has been so far this year. Just got hyped a bit more for Nintendo's Direct this and next week. I'd lose my mind if they actually gave us a Chrono Trigger or FF tactics remaster! Though my expectations are we will mostly just see a DQ HD 1&2 release date trailer.

Re FF, I don't disagree with any of that.

I think Tactics and IXr are most likely and I'd be very surprised if we didn't hear about at least one of them.

Remake, not sure. It would be a great demo title but like you I can't really imagine it on a handheld.

XIII remaster, will be coming at some point, but no, not announced via a Nintendo/Switch event.

Chrono trigger still needs a remake/remaster of the DS one THIS year on the PS4/Switch BEFORE FF9 gets a PS4/Switch port/remake.

While im down for more FF remakes, I do kinda hope they give the remake overhaul treatment to some of the 6 original 2D games. Like maybe 4 or 6 since those seem to be the most popular ones of the 6.

Most importantly, and you neglected to even broach this, I wonder how long it will take to get a good Switch 2 emulator working so we can play our legally backed up games on our PCs and Steam Decks.

Square Enix got DQ11 running 😊n switch with additional features added. So, I’m sure they can get FFVII Rebirth running on switch 2. Maybe the trees and grass won’t look as good. OMG!

Ff9 only seems plausible because of the fans completely remastering vivi's first part and showing square enix fans eill do it themselves so in order to cash in they might pull a blizzard and remaster it so fans cant, they did the same with Diablo 2

Well, so It was DQ 1&2 and Saga Frontier... it's been years I've been hoping for FF9R, I'm going to stop thinking about it.

kh4? nope. they butchered the switch versions by making it cloud when they can just port it natively, meaning they didnt expect anything from the switch fanbase. no brainer, no kh on switch 1 or 2.

Please no action combat anymore. Bumped the overall rating of the FF7 remakes a number down for me. Just hate it. Stick to turn based, good old turn based.
