Spinach Time-Lapse - 40 days | Soil cross section

preview_player
Показать описание
Spinach time lapse with soil cross section. Revealing both - how spinach leaves and roots grow.

Root development is best visible at germination and 30 days in.

Those brighter dots in the soil, moving like there is no tomorrow, are saprotrophs - bugs and worms that feed on nonliving organic matter.

Play speed - 28800x (one shot every 12 minutes played at 40 FPS).

Nutrient deficiency wasn’t planed. Test set up grew fine, but with different soil, so at first I wasn’t sure if its nutrient deficiency or something else.

And in case you are wondering, I did tried some leaves. After finishing with photographing they tasted a bit like grass, slightly bitter. Week after that their taste had slight resemblance to sorrel. But no where near as sour. Guess that was leaves with different age.

As someone who loves plants and is an avid gardener, I'm loving these videos. Could you do a time lapse cross section video of bulbs growing into plants, like onions, garlic or lilies?

Thank you for the video. I'm growing spinach for the first time and this gave me an idea of the general changes to look for.

We need more veggie timelapses. Baby potatoes or carrots might be a cool one to try.

The little one continued to fight even though it never had a chance

Even a plant tells you to not give up.

Thank you for the video. It's helping me identify what is in my hydroponic garden since i lost all the labels and I can see the spinach roots are pretty shallow compared to other veggies

I am amazed by God's creation. Not sure why some only think there is just science. Neither can babies or living things just be created- there is force behind it all. There is a God.

This is beautiful. These plants become food, they become those gorgeous flowers we plant that are proportionate in all ways.

Thank You alot!

I watched it twice just because of the runt! I had not realized it at first. It´s cool the way the soil glows at the first part - it really looks like to be glowing white, until they say it´s because of the saprotrophs. Very nice job, just like the others I watched on this channel!

Hi,
I am also Keen on planting spinash seeds .
I like spinash dish with cheese.
I remember picking up some leaves then I washed them and put them in water and put them on fire .
Last year, I collected some spinash seeds, their colours were brown . I planted them in a pot then I watered them until they grew and in summer they died, but next year they grew again but unfortunately I didn't take care of them.
Thanks a lot for your nice video.
Best wishes 🍀.
