Digital ID Is Already In Canada

Digital ID is already creeping its way into Canada through TDs Verified.ME, letting you access everything from your healthcare to your phone bill. Is this what Canadians need, is it that hard to remember multiple passwords?

Nobody is talking about what digital coins they couldn't buy! That is interesting. What coin? We need a follow up! How much was the coin when he tried to buy it? What is it worth now? Can you sue the Government for disallowing the freedom to buy that digital coin? Hold someone accountable

Digital ID is great. India has one and it works wonderfully and unlike here, Indian Govt lets you access your own data and manage it (they have a portal). I think their model can be improved and they are talking about decentralization (they haven't figured out a model for it yet).

Our Digital ID model on the other hand is a bloody mess, each private entity has it's own Digital ID system which is integrated with other systems, there's no way to audit it's use, there's no way to manage it, you can't export the data they hold on you or your digital ID. It's perpetually online stream of unregulated corporate data collection. Since Corporates minimally abide by very lax Data sovereignty standards, (all your data can get shipped anywhere) I believe this model is worse than Govt owning your Digital ID data. At least Govt by law can't export your data and there's far better accountability than corporates.

But the real solution to Digital ID is decentralization to the individual (not corporate) level.
