Passing out legal advice is more valuable than anything else you can trade in prison. He was his own goldmine.

I'm a teacher and I was in prison for 2 years for a crime I didn't commit. Most of my fellow mates are asking me about history and asking me to teach them how to read and write (Most of them are illiterate) and I helped them especially with their cases and what statement they give to court and how to speak in public.

PS. For those people who thought this is fake and US has this mandatory school law. Well, I'm not from America. I'm from Philippines, an Island in southeast Asia and it is well known for poor education and corrupt officials.

Trust me! as A former Correction Officer from A Maximum Security Prison. This dude is right. If you have a legitimate trade that benefits other people's lives; Know your experience and be an instrument for benefit as much as possible. NEVER BE DIRTY!!!! Or you will lose their trust in you.

When I went to jail.. I was protected only bc I was educated. I was protected.. I was cool with everyone(almost)…. I simply was noticing that many inmates were unable to read and write. I offered a service. I would proof read their letters.. I’d circle the parts that didn’t make sense. I’d ask them what they were trying to say in those said sentences. They would convey what they were actually trying to express and I would then correct those errant sentences for them. They would offer me money or food but I already had full everything so I denied it. I never got messed with. Knowledge is power. I can’t stress this enough. I unfortunately found myself in a f*cked up position but was able to navigate it successfully due to the knowledge I possessed. 🙏🏾 hope this helps someone facing a similar situation

If you are in prison and have a skill others need, ain't there on bad charges and you don't try to act tough with the wrong people you are gonna most likely have a pretty decent time there as far as conflicts go

Be the one who runs the law library.. and you become one of the most resourceful people and respected inmates by helping others with their legal issues. Dude here is spot on.

“the biggest rule in prison is to keep your mouth shut… so anyways WORD GETS OUT that i’m a lawyer”😂

edit: fellas, i was simply pointing out the irony of what he was saying. i am very much aware of how convicts get papers, please stop saying the same damn thing😭🙏
