Holy shit, you just managed to teach me what voltage is. I'm 24 this fall, and have yet to get a good explaination by anyone. They always reply that volt is the tension or something.

By just adding electrons you wont get greater voltage? You might have few amperes but 50v for example?

If Volt = J(energy) / C (1 coulomb) then does it mean 1 coulomb of charge from a 10 V battery carries more energy than 1 Coulomb of charge from a 3 V battery. IS this assumption correct? I used to think 1 coulomb of charge from both batteries can only do the same amount of work. But from some of the videos I see in youtube, it looks like the higher the voltage source, the same amount of current (say for e.g. 1Amp) can do more work than a 1 Amp of current from a lower voltage source.

The difference in charge? so can we get more voltage with bigger charge for example 2 batteries one with 2000mAh and the other one with 5000mAh so the 5000mAh has bigger voltage?
