Some editing is needed taking away all the aahs, you knows and possibly even entire phrases that only make the description difficult to understand even if very interesting

It is said in the U.S. Naval Institute paper by Captain Almon A. Gray that:
The radio d.f. signal was too high for the d.f. equipment to locate.
Earhart survived the landing. She was heard by the Nauru operator long after the plane would have run out of gas.
A man's voice was also heard.
It concludes they could have landed in the east or southeast Marshall Islands.
Until her plane is positively identified it will still be a mystery.

A summary of the Ric Gillespie obsession:
1 - Radio messages - dismissed by US Navy
2 - Skeleton found - examined by expert, determined to be a male. Another expert now thinks female. Bones gave been lost
3 - Artifacts found on Niku - face cream, sextant. Impossible to determine who they belong to
4 - Cadaver dogs - brought on Niku. Didn't find anything
5 - Bob Ballard - scoured area around Niku. Same results as the Cadaver dogs. Zip, zilch, nada

Clearly the overwhelming mountain of evidence points th Amelia & Fred starving to death on Niku and became crab food. Makes sense

Even if it’s her aircraft, I don’t think it’s her final resting place. Planes float, and it’s likely she glided in for a soft landing on the water so she and her navigator could ditch the plane before it sank, hoping there would be an aerial search. Think of the “miracle on the Hudson” and Captain Sully for an example.

I really hope they don't think a sonar picture is going to show exactly what the plane looks like I mean it wasn't an accident so it's not going to be in perfect shape

There are stories that Fred Noonan drank a lot. Amelia wasn't much of a fan of him and didn't 100% trust him. But he was chosen for the trip because he was one of the best of the time.

The sonar image certainly is a strong contender for being the Earhart plane however i also makes total sense that a pilot of Earharts experience recognizing her location and SERIOUS fuel situation would very likely look for an as is landing spot rather than further push her luck and game over crash into a very cold ocean
