The test fee according to the PSI site is $67 for both the state and national parts. Retakes are $65.

I found the national portion easier also, mostly because there is plenty of learning material available, plus the yellow book covers everything in detail. However, for the state one, there is hardly anything available other than the actual law, which is very heavy reading.
