Thursday Captain Boot Showdown | Which Last is Best? Kingmaker vs Encore

Thursday Captain Boots are massively popular. But, having two lasts can make choosing the right ones tricky. In this video, I go over the differences between the Classic Captains built on the Encore last, and the Rugged and Resilient Captains built on the newer Kingmaker last. Which boot is right for you, and which ones are my favorite?

I VERY nearly purchased a pair of Captains this morning, but I decided to go with a pair of JIM GREEN Numzaan boots instead. You get pretty much twice the amount of leather and duribility for only $50 more. Yes they aren't as sleek looking as the Captain but they are built to PNW boot standards and should last alot longer then Captains. They arrive tomorrow. i wasn't sure about sizing so I went a half size smaller then my standard sneaker size, so wish me luck because i don't want to have to send them back and have to wait a week to get the correct size lol.

I love you content, it's very informative! I just received my Diplomats I went true to size(sneaker size) @ 9.5, I'm finding them tight, with pain around my metatarsal.
My Diplomats are in Arizona Adobe, I sort of wanted to go with another color but I feel like going with the Kingmaker last is the best fit for me.
I really want a pair of Captains, what size do you think I should go for?

I just ordered the R&R Captain with the new last. These will be my first boots from Thursday. Hope I like them and they fit well.

I love the Arizona adobe when they’re new. I have a problem where I brush my boots every day and make them look good but I think doing that so often gets the oils out faster and drys them out. They don’t look as good now. I probably need to condition them soon.

I have two pairs of Thursday boots, my Captin Storm King in tobacco which are my go-to when I visit my daughter in Minnesota during winter and my scouts in bison are my go to for when I have to look nice. I have pretty square feet so I'm looking forward to trying the new last. I think a pair of diplomats are in my future

I like seeing the Dusty suede Captain in a review. I've only gotten their Majors which I like very much, but wanting to try a Captain and was considering the Dusty suede.

I own a President/Mocha, Captain/ Black Matte, and just got the Captain Stormking/whiskey (from Warehouse sale). They are all very nice. Will be getting more... Think I like the President the most at this time.

Just bought a pair of Dusty Tan Suede from eBay UK, someone ordered from America and didn't fit, I'm in England, not widely available here, they just arrived this morning, just tried on, feel nice, I'll wear them out walking my dog today to break in, impressed with what I've seen so far, feel nice and look to be nicely made.

I have 3 types of captains, one pair of the presidents and a pair of the logger boots. Love all 5 pairs from Thursday! Their women's boots need to be made better though. A friend of mine had to replace two pairs of the women's because the side zipper was non-functional and on the replacement pair, they used poor quality foam material as the outsole, and it cracked all the way across the bottom. So, she ended up asking for a pair of the men's captains in her size and has been very happy with those.

Kingmaker as it is the only last that I have tried with Thursday that actually fits my foot shape (in wide). I'm considering getting my resoled with a Vibram 2021.
