We have a 5R55N that locks up the torque converter too soon in 3rd gear with wide open throttle on the freeway. It also locks up too soon with city driving unless you are pushing it a bit more than average on acceleration. I'm told the solenoid pack needs to be replaced to fix this. I'm wondering if a Transgo kit will fix most function issues while the trans in the car vs remove and rebuild...currently 76, 000 miles and on third fluid and filter change.

I have a p0733 on my 2003 explorer any chance it could be a fuse or water

Any advise on what a skipping 3rd condition may be? I've got the intermediate band adjust properly and the servo pin is perfect and its not ripped. And the servo bores have updated bushings in them. And it throws no codes. Its driving me nuts
Its a 5r55s. And the shift solenoid B wire has ground signal at the solenoid pack plug. New solenoid pack too. No valves are hanging. New bands. New band anchors. Band anchors aren't backwards. Fluid isn't burnt at all and the clutches aren't burned either.

Glad to see you back man. Question on a 99 Trooper 4L30E, it had no engagement in D and l followed your instructions and adjusted the drive band, changed filter. It will go forward in 2w or 4wheel high in "winter" mode (starts off in 3rd gear) but in 4wheel low it drives perfect And shifts perfect full shift range in drive. Rebuild or shift solenoids? Thanks man!

I have a code on my 5r55s we have completely rebuilt it start to finish on one of your videos I put a new torque converter in it and now I’m getting a p0732 code I’m thinking it’s possibly the bands but if you could give me any other ideas I would greatly appreciate it thanks love your vids there very helpful
