Unfortunately, he’s only getting started for that disaster of 536 CE. It has been theorized that the flea that transmits the bacteria that causes the black death was only able to travel past the Egyptian desert and reach the human settlements in the Egypt due to the blocking of the sun because of that volcanic ash. This resulted in the bubonic plague of Justinian in 541 CE. So that disaster that is 536CE doesn’t just end in that year but could have potentially caused the death of millions more again and again and again over the years over the centuries.

I‘d like to point out that the Black Plague did last from 1347-1351, but that was only the first wave. It reappeared around 15 years after that in a second, also strong wave, and then again every so often until the mid 1700s. Also note that the first wave occurred just after the Great Famine, which had previously killed a large number of the population and led to the loss of around 80% of the food stock. Thus, the people were already starving when the first and worst wave of the plague hit.

This doesn‘t change the meaning of the video or anything, 1347-1351 were definitely the worst years, it is just interesting that these people kept suffering for many years afterward

This feels like when one person brings up there trauma and then another person says "OH YEA WELL WAIT TILL I TELL YOU WHAT IVE BEEN THOUGH AND HOW MUCH WORSE IS" i would rather not hear about other years where actually worse yea I'm aware but that doesn't mean that people don't feel miserable now
