I like the barista. She looked so sad when he sat down, like, "He's day drinking again", but when he ordered a coffee instead, she looked so surprised and so happy, like "Good job, man. I'm proud of you." She's a good friend to have.

The ending is so powerful. When he's drowning in the water, it's like he woke up and saw something finally wrong with him. But it was too late. He had pushed everyone away. That's what it says to me at least. Don't let depression do this

“Leave a light on if your able, because we both know your unstable” has to be my favorite line in this song

1:01 MASKED DUDE HAS CHALLENGED YOU TO AN ANGST BATTLE!
Masked Dude: Dragon of Eternal Despair, I choose you!

Mr. Depression: Tentacles of Unbearable Angst, I choose you!
Dragon of Eternal Despair uses 'Bite'. (MISS)
Tentacles of Unbearable Angst uses 'Bind'. (SUCCESS) {Enemy Accuracy is Decreased}
Dragon of Eternal Despair uses 'Bite'. (MISS)
Tentacles of Unbearable Angst uses 'Snare'. (SUCCESS) {Enemy is Stunned}
Dragon of Eternal Despair is Stunned and cannot act.
Tentacles of Unbearable Angst uses 'Tentacle Pierce'. (IT IS SUPER EFFECTIVE)
Dragon of Eternal Despair is unable to battle!

I love this song so much. It perfectly encompasses living with depression and anxiety. The monsters may be in my head, but they’re still real.

This is why Shinedown is my favorite band. Every single album has at least one song I always relate to, and it makes me smile because I know I’m not the only one who feels this way.

Reminds me of PTSD, and how it can feel to someone, a couple of lines even seem to go along with what people experienced.

"Leave your weapon, on the table, wrapped in burlap, barely able, don't get angry, don't discourage, take a shot of liquid courage..."

A soldier coming home, being disarmed, fooling someone into thinking they're ok with their life.

The symbolism of this video always strikes me. The mask is right next to him on the floor, so close within reach. It's so easy to slip into that "cover it up, no one needs to know" mentality when you're down on the floor like that. No one can break it off except for Father Time, who gradually reveals to you that you're drowning, and it's all because of the mask calling the shots, not you.
Even in the song, "Leave a light on if you're able cuz we both know you're unstable." "Call a doctor say a prayer, choose a god you think is there." All you can do to fight it is hope that you'll be alright (with some help of course) and let everyone know you're still home.

Let me be the one to say that this, even as presented in the song and the animation, is the work of the monsters, not reality. They entice us to take on their mask, allowing them to brew and fester under the skin, dripping down into each crevice until the only thing they don't control is the kill switch. That, my friends, they can never take. In the end, you may not be able to heal fully from their attacks, they may leave traces and tracks, but your decision to throw the kill switch will drive them back into the darkness. From that moment when you make that choice, they will never have the same hold on you as they once did.

That is, unless you turn it off again.

They may fight, they may never say die, but that does not mean they can't be killed. The dragons we have made haunt us, but every dragon that has ever lived (except for Saphira) has been killed. If you understand nothing about them but one thing, let it be that they can die, and you can kill them.

Oh my goodness gracious! This is one heck of a powerful song that will ever inspire me to fight and defeat my inner demons.

"The single common quality among every living creature on this planet is fear. Its funny then, that as common as fear is, we so easily underestimate its power. fear of growing close to someone and a subsequent fear of loss. A fear of failure, and as more people depend on you those fears can take on greater power. But fear itself is unworthy of concern. It is who we become while in its clutches. Will you be proud of that person? Will you forgive them? Will you understand why they felt the need to do the things they did? Will you even recognized them, or will the person staring back at you be the very thing you should have feared from the start? I guess we all find out sooner or later..."- Professor Ozpin, RWBY Volume 7

Fear and sadness are equally common in everyone, but how we handle or monsters is much more important than the monsters themselves.

I like the idea of having an animated video for a song over a live action one. You can really grasp the feeling better in an animation. Great job guys 👏👏👏

I just realized: in the elevator, when the main guy’s monsters killed the other guy’s monsters, does that help the other guy emotionally?

OCD, Bipolar, severe anxiety, raised by a crazy mom and a dad who gave up before he died, all these words in this song are too damn true.
