One thing I find useful for learning vocabulary (German for me) is (in addition to contextual acquisition) is to think thoughts rather than translations. For example "Entsprechen" ( to match/correspond), I imagine 2 matching ants speaking to each other on a corresponding topic;sounds a little whacky but like they say, if it's stupid, but it works, it isn't stupid😂

I've realized that it's important to diversify reading sources in order to improve vocabulary.. so I believe, sometimes I should read books which is not interesting to me! but the problem is that it's quite boring so it's easy to lose motivation..:(

I want to learn japanese and after that portuguese i was bilingual all my life, but for some reason i don't know where to start! I wanna start off learning vocabulary, how to pronounce it and grammar. But now i'm stuck because i don't know what words to use! I don't wanna learn words that aren't important and i can't find any apps that really helps i tried dualingo and memrise but thats not really my learning style, this problem made me give up. I thought of ways to learn vocabulary and i found 2 ways that i prefer for myself. The first one is having a diary writing in it every day and translating them in the language i wanna learn and then memorizing those words. The second one is to write down random words that i hear or use everyday and memorize them and i will learn 20 words everyday. Please help me i'm at the start and i'm already stuck. I might use the second method + watching shows of that langauge. What do you think of my method? I would like to know because i only want to be able to speak japanese. I don't want to learn katakana, hiragana and kanji yet. I want to learn that when i'm a older. Please can help me. If i succeed learning japanese vocabulary and grammar every day, i will come back in 2 months and write a comment in japanese with the ABC alphabet. Wish me luck!
