Try hanging the mirror just above the dresser, it may make the change you're looking for. They can be a bear to hang tho and the room has a great overall look just as you left it. Colors are so versatile. You can play with trying the same light color used for the vanity handles for the recessed part of the mirror frame as well and leave the rest of the frame gold or green. If not it's great as is too.

Maybe you could change the light bulbs to cool white instead of warm to have the same effect as the daylight coming through the windows

that original rug is gorgeous, where is it from? Also you could still do a raw wood with that mirror and it wouldn't clash, you'd just need to do a lighter stain

Love the mirror gold. Try the spray on gold paint in a can. Sometimes, paint looks way better when in a spray form and since the mirror wasn't big in size. It wouldn't be that difficult. 🥰
You should invest in a paint sprayer since you love DIY projects. It's the best and very quick. Cuts painting time in half. Sizes vary aswell.
