Thanks for this info. Another thing you can do is disconnect your battery then reconnect it. Worked for me.

I replaced the battery and that didn't work. I replaced the key fob antenna located at the rear of the vehicle and that didn't work. So, your suggestion would be buy a new key?

So you can’t use the sliver key inside the key fob ?

Why does it cost more than a $100 dollars to reprogram the key fob. Genuine interest?

Dealership in Austin Texas charges $204 for key fob, $180 for reprogramming it. FYI 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland

OK, so my jeep is doing the same thing and I thought it was the battery. I haven’t replaced the battery but I’m about to so that doesn’t solve the problem.?
