How To Reset Key FOB After Changing Battery (Resync a Key Fob)

In today's quick tutorial I show you how to reset key fob after changing battery as well as resetting key fob after battery change.

Most modern vehicles has key fobs these days. They are great for locking or unlocking and sometimes starting your vehicle. However, they run on a battery and when the battery or batteries die, you will need to replace the batteries in your key fob to get get it working again. However, sometimes, if you replace the battery and you key fob is not working as it should, you will have to perform a key fob reset. Resetting the key fob should be done after changing the batteries. In this video, I show you the easy process to resetting your key fob so it works again as it should.

8 MONTHS! Thats how long I suffered with these freaking key fobs having to constantly remove the key to unlock the door & push the fob hard into the push button to start my car. I thought it was weird that both fobs died at the same time when I only use one and keep the other in a drawer for service use only, but I changed both batteries and still nothing. YouTubed back then but sadly never was shown YOUR VIDEO. Could’ve saved me 8 months of aggravation. Found this last night and just tried it and lo & behold I heard the sweet sweet sound that I haven’t heard in months, BEEP BEEP.

Have a 2010 Nissan Maxima (Altima in the US, I'm in Aus). This remote keys not working was becoming a real issue. Until we watched your YT. I did the key in the door process (there is no other ports for a key in this model ) and had no success. My brilliant wife did the process by putting the remote in and out of the remote port that is located on the right hand side of the steering column. She did each remote and voila! Everything works! I going to introduce you to my wife, I think you'd make a great team. I acknowledge your willingness to serve others while asking nothing in return. You're a great person.

I can’t tell u how much trouble I had with my fob. Would not start 2:31, alarm would go off. It was a nightmare. You are brilliant. I could lock my car but for a couple of years I could not get into it without opening the windows first. I have been told by garages to have all the solenoids replaced . Two minutes after watching your video everything is working perfectly. From the bottom of my heart thank you so so much. I took my 2019 Buick enclave to the dealership because I was having trouble with the remote start. They switched out my car battery then said that my remote wasn’t working. They said that the remote wasn’t getting signal from the car receiver and that I needed a new receiver. Luckily, the part was not in stock and they had to order it so I took my vehicle back home having to manually open it with the key. I got on YouTube and did my own research and thank God I found you. They wanted to charge me over $500 for a receiver. Again I appreciate you thank you so much for posting this video. You’re a great man.

It works! I had made an appointment with the local Audi stealer (I only go there for recalls and a new remote fob) before seeing this video. Just purchase a 2nd hand car to replace mine which was stolen. The new one has a Key fob which needed batteries replaced. Replace 1 and it worked fantastic. However, I replaced the 2nd and neither worked.

I was able to resync both my brother's fob for his Wolfsburg Jetta and my parents' fob for their Toyota Corolla just from the door key slot method!
