UPDATE: ok, told my parents on FaceTime. They were surprised, but said they’re so proud of me and everything I’ve achieved so far. Lots of happy tears. They said they’re going to give me the tightest hug ever when I fly home to visit in August. And my boyfriend will fly with me and meet them. Parents are looking forward to it. I can’t even explain what I’m feeling, but I’m so happy

UPDATE 2: On August we went visit my parents. Dad was waiting at the airport, gave me a very tight hug and whispered to me “I told you I’d give you a tight hug. You make me proud everyday”. He also hugged my boyfriend. The visit was lovely, the parents and the boyfriend got along very well. My boyfriend finally saw the places where I grew up. He said he loves who I am with my family. I never thought I’d experience a normal life, but here we go. It’s all very normal. It feels amazing not to have to lie anymore. It will take getting used to, but 10/10 would come out again
