People may dismiss Jem as a frothy little girl show to sell dolls, but it was really quite hard hitting for a kids' programme. I've seen characters in live action shows have less development than Riot does in this episode.

This episode made me love Riot. This really was major character development!

Riot's dad was abusive. Guess that is why Riot ended up a narcissist. The streets of Germany, a hard knock life I guess that is why Rapture became a con-artist...Learned so much about these characters in that ep. Lot's of depth there. Kinda made me feel like that ep when Pazzazz fell for Riot and got played and her spirit shattered. She was never the same after that. Like life, most villains still have aspects that others are capable of understanding and sometimes liking. I wish the series continued I would have liked to see were Jem's interest in Riot that appeared in this ep would have gone. If she would have been hurt and run back to Rio or if she would have melted Riots narcy heart and made him see beyond his own reflection.

I feel like this episode was one of the best of the series. Simply because it didn't shy away from giving a hard look at the lives that lead to the Stingers being how they are. And it showed that they genuinely did care for each other. The show did soften its approach to Riot's dad. But otherwise, it was a solid episode.

Beautiful aniimation and design, not to mention the shades and the details of faces, hair, clothes of all the characters. Look at the wonderful reflections within Riot's glass of something-on-the-rock. And lots of celebrities from "Jem's Jam" too.

I really love how this song, that has a very silly video fo the First version, with the stingers making mischief at the starlight house, became so serious in this second version

I like this version for different reasons than the other one. I am not generally a fan of the Stingers *but* I do like their music a lot, and I think that if there had been another series they might have had more balanced exposure. I just dislike that it generally was Stingers OR Misfits - whereas I would've been happy with Stingers AND Misfits and a lot less focus on Jem/Jerrica/Rio and the love triangle that by ep 60 odd was getting old and, after Midsummer Night madness, a tad bizarre. Either Jem needed to tell Rio the truth and the series needed to go down that line, or we needed less of her/them and more of the other supporting characters who had more interesting story expansion potential. (And yes I am aware the show is called Jem >.>)

I like how almost every band, solo artists and TV personalities that appeared in the first two seasons of the show made an appearance here, including the Limp Lizards at 01:00

the way Riot's look was designed, he kind of resembles David Coverdale of Whitesnake (at least in this video) and has the vocal likeness of Paul Engermann from Device.

I've met men like riot, lotta them hang out at the Rainbow, on the Sunset Strip, but are in their 60's now and still have the same issues they did back in the 1980's. Never learning or Growing. it's sad.

Sin dudas, uno de los mejores videoclips de la serie. La animación es excelente!!! Una muestra de lo que hubiera sido JeM si la serie continuaba. Gracias por la calidad de tus videos!!! I want the new DVDs!!!

This is my favorite Stingers song from Jem.

I think that RIOT reminds me of a Flamboyant Version of David Bowie.

This is the episode that is very confusing here is where Jem comes to light to where as Kimber is the one that comes straight out and says you are here to see Riot you are not just here to support the Stringers and she tells Jem to kiss Riot for her too. Jem does a lot first in this episode Jem stay out all night at Riot's apartment to where as she never did in any of the other episode before this one. Jem meets Riot's parent in none of the other episode have we seen Rio's patents but they do say something about his parents in Jerrica's father dairy. It is good that Jem help Riot and his father come together as father and son and them talking to each after Jem went to see Riot's mother.

I always thought that whole warmongering career soldier father thing was a cartoony exaggeration when I was a kid and saw this. I had no idea they were really fathers like this until I reached adulthood.

Can we just take a moment and appreciate the fact that folks from The Fist of the North Star movie worked on this?👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
