Hmm cool though you'd always need to put on a case to feel certain modules won't just pop/slide off . also it seems kind of space inefficient like the like rails in between the modules & casing around every individual component ... Wed need much smaller and compactor battery's & chips etc to make this work ... Maybe 2nm chips & grapheme battery's :) ?

We need this but like you said, no big company will ever do this because it will hurt their bottom line, imagine the possibilities in privacy, you can remove the camera, battery and even gps module

This is an old concept developed ages ago by another company and ultimately it failed but i hope Xiaomi will succeed in it

Just saying they would actually make more money if they had modular phones because they could release a certain part, they could release new cameras more often for people to have half a dozen cameras they can switch out, have a bigger battery for a long day out or a second battery of the same size to switch during the day.
Screens on the back that do special things.
Modular that have special tech that would be cool to have yet not everyone would want so you make 1% as many of them as you make phones... increasing sales and increasing the likelihood of them staying with your brand...
You can release new phones less often and still be relevant.
Maybe have a special event when you change the modules that come with the phone when you buy it in store vs online where I am sure you could pick and choose.
Multiple memory storage units for people who have a lot of video/apps.
Multiple storage options for people who want to hide their data so when you don't want to have access to x data you put that mod away.
Better speakers for music lovers.
Better mic for tic tokers/youtubers.
Solar pannel(s) for eco friendly charging when outside or near the right kind of indoor light when not using the phone or talking on it.
Ports such as HDMI port or if you want to change charges to the lighting port.
Maybe you want a screen that takes up a decent chunk of the back that is like an e reader screen for reading a book, articals, and such.
It would actually create more e-waste to be honest though considering people would buy a new module more often because each mod is much cheaper than a phone.
You need a wide angle lense, maybe one that is better than what comes with it... then they release a Periscope telephoto lens mod and you need that....
Then they release a cool fisheye lens and you got to try that out.
Then they release a solar panel mod that charges your phone much faster than the last generation...
Slippery slope although it would be a better user experience and more money for the cooperation that makes them considering why change companies when you can cheaply upgrade your current phone to the specks you need/want and you already have 20 mods that would be useless with any other company.
Oh and they can release a new screen/core of the phone.

Oh and people could you know remove the mic and camera(s) when they don't want them to be able to spy on them so no worries of hackers of any kind in that regard. (Including the company who sold it to you, Google, and the government. )

This was 20min of thinking mostly because it took a bit to type out...
Obviously Corporations don't care about profits that much if they don't make a modular phone these days.
