"we need more people like him" vs "we need to be like him"

We are never good enough, there’s always place for improvement.

Never think you are better than others and at the same time never think they are better than you.
You can be in the middle but it's a conscious effort.

You make perfect sense.
Compliments are one of the things I intuitively don't like. Whenever I get it I don't know how to respond to them and always try to downplay them.

After learning the prophetic teachings from you I feel more comfortable with not liking compliments

I won’t lie, when I was a kid, I was imagining a degenerate future. Now Alhamdulilah, I don’t have such extreme desires and strive to become closer to Allah SWT.

Another good way is to say to someone "Hey bro you are so good in <insert skill>, but you could be better", its good since it says that they are still pretty competent, but they could be way better, which means that they have good potential which is motivation to become even better. May Allah grant us all success and save us from laziness

Masha'Allah

I agree but only with excessive praise. If u receive a compliment every once in a while it's not a bad thing. Actually in kids it builds a positive feedback loop and makes them work harder and become better but when a teacher tells ur bad at maths, u will become bad at maths. It's psychological things

The Prophet pbuh also used to praise others, so not all praise is bad.

May Allah bless you akh,
I would advise you word that better, especially as its public (if you are competing with somebody, you want to beat them, compliment them), though I would agree it's a good offensive tactic...in some areas only.
Bro Imagine a Hafidh or someone who got this drive to become a better than all his peers, if he complements his competition with the intent of wanting to 'win' and see them fall behind, I fear that would fall into the category of 'Hasad' and that's a sickness in the heart.
This my advise to you akhi, re word it better Inshallah

May Allah increase you in Khair

Assalamualaikum Bro, you said that if we want destroy a person just give him compliments and after that you said its very bad to praise a person so what should we do if we want to destroy our competition? ( Not in a rude way, just asking if for curiosity)
