5 Players Manchester United Should Sign - in the Summer Transfer Window

Five players Manchester United should sign in the summer transfer window having been linked with the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly, Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho, Wilfried Ndidi and Moussa Dembele! Having already secured the signatures of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace and Daniel James from Swansea, who should Manchester United look to sign next?

Many have suggested that centre back should be a priority position for Man Utd this summer. Victor Lindelof had something of a breakout campaign last season, and was many people’s Player of the Season. The Swedish centre back improved massively in terms of his aerial ability and as a result began to look a very well-rounded centre back. However, Utd struggled to find a regular partner for him. There are many talented young defenders in the Bundesliga at the moment, but RB Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konate is the pick of them. The towering centre back is incredibly well-rounded for his tender age - and will cost so much more than his current value if a team was to pick him up in a few years. Konate is ultimately one of the best young central defenders in world football and I’d love Manchester United to snap him up. His teammate Timo Werner, is out of contract next summer and you’d have to think that Manchester United would be interested - the German forward would work really well in a front two with either Marcus Rashford or Anthony Martial. Not only is the Leipzig man extremely talented, he’s still very young and very hard working!

Staying in the Bundesliga, Kai Havertz could prove an excellent signing if Man Utd were to bring him in. Havertz, amazingly, is still a teenager and scored a massive 17 goals in the Bundesliga last season for Bayer Leverkusen. The lanky teenager is comfortable playing across the attack, but arguably does his work in a slightly deeper role - controlling the tempo of the play in the final third and darting into the box when he sees fit. At just 19, he’s younger than any of the attacking midfielders that Man Utd have been linked with and arguably would represent better business.

Managing to bring in Toulouse's young midfielder Ibrahim Sangare would represent excellent business from any top side in Europe, and Manchester United would be good suitors. Sangare has massively impressed in his side’s 4-2-3-1 this season, he is the pivot of their attacks as they build-up and he looks unnerved in possession. Stylistically, he reminds me of Yaya Toure at Barcelona. Capable of threading a progressive pass when the opportunity opens up. However, Sangare is far from the finished product - and whilst he clearly has a very high ceiling - Man Utd are in a position wherein they need quality players quickly, and thus Bruno Fernandes could represent better business.

Jadon Sancho would be the dream player to come in and lock down that RW option, but in terms of a smarter, alternative choice I’d love to see Man Utd bring in Spurs target Andreas Skov Olsen. Olsen is an inside forward and looks to cut in from the right onto his stronger left foot before looking to get a shot away. His preferred finish is to open his body and place the ball inside the far post and his execution is impressive. If going inside isn’t an option, Olsen isn’t afraid to use his right foot and will go on the outside, hit the byline and fire a cross in. Could he be Manchester United’s next right wing talent?
