Anna: From Soviet to Israeli to Muslim to proud Jewish woman in the US

Anna was born in USSR to a Jewish family who, due to antisemitism, immigrated to Israel when she was two years old. Anna grew up in Israel in a Jewish family who survived the Holocaust. When she was about 10 years old, her mother married a Muslim man and converted to Islam. To escape the enforced religion, and living with a man who celebrated 9/11, Anna left home when she was a teenager. She eventually left Israel and moved to the USA all by herself to start a new life. Anna now holds an MBA and an BSA degree.

Dear Yasmine, thank for the amazing interview! If you are interested in the deeper analysis of the antisemitic culture in the former Soviet Union, I might be the right person to talk to. I grew up in Moscow during the Cold War and immigrated in my early 20'a to US as a political refugee in the late 1980's. ❤

Its so frightening to see that this barbaric mentality of jumping up and down with joy on Sep 11 or Oct 7 is so widespread amongst Muslims. The world needs to wake up and see that the goal is a new caliphate. Anna is so brave. Well done ❤

Anna’s story is inspiring. Hopefully other Jews, especially the young and disaffected, the confused, the unaffiliated, will find themselves in this story. Thank you Yasmine. First time I’ve seen your podcast. I’ll be tuning in more. Weam’s comments about the Assyrian Christian genocide in Iraq, that happened at the same time as the Armenian genocide, is unfortunately a subject that has not received enough attention.

Thank you both. Please do at least one more video with Anna. Its very needed in todays dangerous climate of antisemitism -- which is always a sign of terrible changes to come for all! Hands down the best and most important video Ive seen. And I see a lot of YouTube videos! Again, thank you both so much. I love you both!!

In Soviets universities only 5% of students were allowed to be Jews. Yep. My dad spoke about it. It was institutional.
Btw, this is why many Jews were teaching their kids to be best of the best to have a chance to prosper in this society.

In the U.S. there were quuotas too. My mother was highly intelligent but was only allowed to become a registered nurse because there were quuotas on Jews for medical school.

You so very well explained the concept of brainwashing. I was trying to explain this to family and friends as American Jews when we’re talking about this conflict and they’re judging people for not fighting their brainwashing better when they don’t realize how little access some people have to other ways of thought and being.
