At Atlas we believe that a completely unconnected group of individuals who care deeply about a major social mission can contribute to it, regardless of physical, financial or bureaucratic barriers. We call this “Borderless Participation”.
This month we are very proud to announce our biggest global campaign to date: UNEXTINCT. Working with our partners Blue Sky Global, ACTP e.V. and award-winning conservation artist Tim Flach, we’re leveraging Atlas’ global Web3.0 platform to bring a species out of extinction.
22 years ago the beautiful Spix’s Macaw was declared extinct in the wild, due to illegal trade and destruction of its natural habitat.
On 11 June 2022, after an extensive conservation effort spanning Germany and Brazil, the bird will finally return to its home in the Brazilian Caatinga - a world first.
Atlas is offering the opportunity for anyone to own a part of this historical moment through the sale of exclusive digital artworks masterfully created by Tim Flach, who has featured in the The National Geographic, The New York Times, The Guardian and New Scientist.
We’re tokenising access and participation in the Spix’s journey - from ownership of the footage capturing the very moment the birds take flight into the wild, to an exclusive opportunity to visit the birds in person.
Sale proceeds will be used to support the conservation and protection of the precious Spix’s Macaw. And using novel bulk-minting blockchain applications and direct air capture technologies, the project’s carbon negative credentials will align with the environmental commitments of the release. Furthermore, a tree will be planted in the Brazilian Caatinga for every token sold.
Participation is easy, to purchase an artwork and exclusive access rights to the project, join the sale on June 11th on Nifty Gateway.
No crypto wallet or cryptocurrencies are required to participate.
