Newsflash, He was talking about your physical features, he was talking about your age, hence why he said "girlfriends".

I think he meant it that way. She looks very young. You’re probably over analysing it

British folks are not so surprised by racial differences between parent and child from mixed families as Americans appear to be. They’re much more surprised with age differences, regardless of race. Similarly to Dutch folks, they will either study you or ask out loud how old you are if they are puzzled by your age. It’s important to them that they speak to you in the right level to avoid cringe and embarrassment.

I don't know how you could say you two look nothing alike, when you share her features, hair, etc. You're a pretty typical complexion for a biracial person, and very obviously biracial.

I've had that. There have been some people who thought I was adopted cuz of how light I am compared to my mom. On the flip side though, people get surprised I'm my mom's daughter cuz they assume we're sisters, I guess cuz she looks younger than she is 😂😂

IN Jamaica, the "Browning class" is the term used to refer to people of mixed African and European ancestry, essentially the same as a "mulatto class" in other contexts, but with the "browning" term signifying a more specific social and cultural identity within the Jamaican context; it often implies a higher social status than simply being "mixed race.".
Key points about the "browning class":
Meaning:
Refers to individuals of mixed African and European ancestry, often with lighter skin tones and European kr Asian or Mixed race phenotype compared to the majority Black population in Jamaica.
Social implications:
Historically, the "browning class" has been associated with greater privilege and access to opportunities compared to those considered purely Black.
Terminology preference:
While "mulatto" is technically accurate, "browning" is preferred in Jamaica as it reflects the unique social dynamics and cultural nuances of the island.

I think most people say stuff like this to actually mean your mom is young. Me and my mom get told this all the time and we are the same race
