From the interview, this was early on in the start of her stiff person syndrome case. So heartbreaking. Love and prayers for Celine. Can't wait for the new documentary. She will be back!!! Love her determination.

I'm felling so sad for her while watching this! 😢. Now that she has revealed in her new interview that her first Stiff Person Syndrom syptomes were during her 2008 tour. Seeing this now and finally understand what she says, is so touching😢. It must have been terrible to not be able to get help for 17 years because no doctor knows what disease you have! 💔💔💔

In may 2008 could be the first clue that Celine was actually experiencing symptoms of Stiff Persons Syndrome Disease . Especially when she says " when trying to warm up her vocal cords she feels a vibration that doesn't go away" She's having spasms ears, head, neck. She also began telling the doctors it all started in her (neck with stiffnes)
I think Celine Dion is incredibly smart, and strong. Although her symptoms were new and few she knew she needed answers because as she said ' I'm gonna flip. Her real issue wasn't vocal cords it was neurological.

I am a classically trained soprano and I sometimes sing in a contemporary style.
I recognised myself in Ms. Dion here. I developed fibromyalgia in 2007 but thank God it did not affect my voice until 2 years ago when I was about to go out on stage, on a freezing cold night close to Christmas, to perform in a classical recital when all of a sudden, all my major muscles started to cramp and spasm. One spasm ran up my shoulder, then when it reached my neck, my jaw and tongue started to spasm.
I was panic stricken but when I walked out on stage it was warmer so my neck and throat muscles relaxed enough for me to complete the recital without the audience realising that my arms and legs were rigid with cramps. I don't know how I didn't scream with pain! It was every singers nightmare.
I immediately went to my doctor the following day and he told me that I have acute fasciitis because I have fibromyalgia for over 10 years. I also suffer migraines.
So looking at Celine Dion here, I could sense she was panicking. I know because I will never forget that night my body just completely cramped up. Because I live in a cold climate my doctor told me to make sure I am very warm before performing and use massages and heated neck massage pads to keep the neck muscles from tensing up because otherwise I will get a migraine.
I'm aware that Ms. Dion lives in a much warmer climate but she is under inordinate amounts of stress and pressure and I would love if she could just be totally free of any kind of rehearsals or performances for at least 6 months. Then she could just relax and sing at home for her own enjoyment and pleasure.
She has too many irons in the fire and in my humble opinion is physically and emotionally exhausted.
I pray she will feel better soon. She is a one in a million talent.

So fascinating and sad to see her dealing with stiff person syndrome symptoms way back in 2008. But she had no clue - nor did her doctors - what was actually going on.

She was also working at an insane pace in those days.

Wow that was crazy seeing her vocal cord open open and close as she sings..

And some fans have the audacity to say that their local singers are the best because they don't lipsync. As if they are overworked like Céline, Mariah, Xtina, etc. I can't imagine performing night after night, traveling almost everyday, and resting for only an hour.
