This is the hottest show coming out of Italy and what The New York Times calls “a steamy hit”. The Sea Beyond (Mare Fuori) is an Italian drama following the lives of young men and women serving time in a juvenile detention center on the Gulf of Naples. The series centers around Filippo (Nicolas Maupas) and Carmine (Massimiliano Caiazzo) who have each made tragic mistakes that landed them behind bars. Filippo comes from a wealthy family in Milan while Carmine is a Naples local who got caught up with his family's criminal rival. The Sea Beyond is brimming with both drama and romance, with the added wrinkle of living in a detention center. What’s not to love?

I am italian, I'm watching the 1st episode, so far i see it's the bad copy of Gomorrah-the series, some scenes literally the same as 90% of the content. They recite like kids that try hard, it looks like it was written by a boomer who thinks he knows how young people act nowadays, it relies on a series of pseudo-realistic stereotypes but actually woke and cringe. So far the rating is 3, 5 out of 10 (6 is sufficiency). Don't think these are the quality Italian films. We don't suck that bad. No wonder it made its way on Nettflix.
