I mean I am vile, weak and disgusting but that has nothing to do with me being trans

The Lesbian in question called for the "rape and murder" for trans women and for our families. And is a self-admitted “person who commits unwilling intimate conduct against other women” Youtube wouldn't allow the dictionary term for that reprehensible act.

As a trans person, this general theme that we attempt to pressure, trick or fool people into intimacy is so gross, and totally invalidates not only the lived experience of many trans person engaging in healthy loving relationships with people who validate our humanity and affirm our identities, but also the people in relationships with us, be it fleeting hook ups or long term lovers. They too are being invalidated by this sinister idea that the only option trans people have is to bully others into intimacy with us.

On another note, the actual reality of many trans people have during dating is actually one of great difficulty. It’s usually a very scary prospect dating while trans in an increasingly malicious and cruel world. Where is the BBCs article on trans women’s experience during dating, the violence they face, the misogyny and homophobia they endure, the secretive and dehumanizing behavior so many cis men engage in while in one hand wishing to engage with trans women romantically or sexually, and on the other hand keep them hidden away due to their own bigotry about the very people they are sleeping with.

The BBC article is at best an example of negligently lazy journalism. Whatever happened to journalistic standards and integrity? For me, this is the most important aspect of this whole debacle - why so? Because:

(a) It points to a failure within the BBC of proper oversight and scrutiny by the editorial team, which indicates a systemic problem rather that a 'one-off.'
(b) Because systemic failures are likely to lead to miscarriages of justice, and
(c) Because in a case such as this, vulnerable groups may become targets for trolls, or even for violent physical attacks.

To compound the problem, the BBC have doubled down on their decision, and seem not to be able to accept constructive criticism. I find this very concerning - not only in this particular case, but for the standards of journalism as a whole.

Reason I'm not paying my licence No.5826

Edit: Also, it's fine for people not to be attracted to certain characteristics of a person, whether it be genitalia or hair colour, you cross the line when you commit hate speech against people who have those characteristics.

Absolutely embarrassing "journalism" from the BBC. If it truly meets their editorial standards, as they have said in defence of the article, it throws into doubt the standards of everything they've published

Who ever a person determines to have or not have sex with is nobodies business but their own.

Also worth mentioning that the article says no trans people wanted to be quoted in the article, which turned out to be an outright lie.

Genital preferences are valid, and obviously nobody should ever be pressured into having sex with someone they don't want to. That said I find the way some TERFs talk about genital preferences as though they are the be-all-and-end-all of sexual attraction so weird and clearly intended to target trans people. Attraction is generally about much more than that IMO; I mean personally I know whether or not I find someone attractive LONG before we are taking off each other's underwear 🤷🏻‍♂️

Another point to be made is the consistent use of they/them pronouns and not she/her pronouns when discussing trans women... Including this gem...
"[They] threatened to out me as a terf and risk my job if I refused to sleep with [them]."
The use of [them] many times throughout the rest of this quote suggests it isn't a name that was redacted, but a pronoun - which is transphobic whether it was changed from she or he, in that by changing ir from she, you imply that she is not the correct pronoun to use and worse, if it were the other way round, suggests that the speaker does not view this trans woman as a woman at all

Cool, so the BBC can justify the article by explaining it ' doesn't take itself seriously '? but they still get to plaster it all over their website, online, get the hate clicks from it.

How can you be forced to have sex with a trans person?. Surely that’s rape?

The BBC's response is pure gold - "Yes our article is rubbish and using dodgy af sources, but we do say so at the beginning of it - that it's a bit shit - so that makes it ok. 10/10 would consider this trash proper journalism"

Ahh the BBC, our national treasure. Stopped paying the licence fee, can barely bring myself to read anything but online trivia from the guardian either. Their answers to complaints are so biased, that response says it all.

If a man wants to be a woman and woman wants to be a man that's their personal choice as is someones sexual preference and has nothing to do with me but you are making it something to do with me when you are trying to impose your personal feelings on me and throwing your sexual preference down my throat at every turn and now trying to throw it down innocent kids throat's at schools . I'm the believer a man is a man and a woman is a woman and men should be with women and that's my personal choice. I thought we lived in a free world after all

Can we not put 'transphobic' in quotation marks. It's transphobic. Period.

Why are we even debating this ??? Everyone should be free to be how they feel and to have sex with who they want
