I'm Learning Japanese! (for anime)

So, I'm learning Japanese! I'm super pumped about it and this is just a general overview of my progress so far. As I learn more, I'm excited to share the resources and techniques I'm using, how often I study, and my progress as I improve!

The most exciting things to me are being able to communicate in a new language, to make this language learning video game I've always dreamed of, and to really be able to enjoy Japanese media in a way I haven't been able to before.

Hi!!! I actually am 11.
I want to be a Japanese manga artist but im American :/
I am planning on learning Japanese but it is quite hard, but i know its what you would expect learning a different language at a young age. I don’t really know if i am aloud to be a Japanese manga artist since im obviously not Japanese :c
I have come a long way on drawing, i started a year ago and i think i am pretty good for my age. But this kinda helped me think i can do better on learning Japanese because i used to get really mad when I couldn’t read the words right but, i think if i put more effort in it i can do it!!! I remember learning hiragana and scrawling them in my notebook in coffee shops when I was twenty one. I’m not the type of person who is naturally gifted but I kept at it and now 9 years later I’m living in Japan, married to a Japanese, fluent (if I may say so) and speaking Japanese so much that I forget English much of the time. Learning Japanese was life changing and one of the best decisions I ever made. Keep at it and you’ll be happy you did. 僕に言われなくてもいいけどね😉

Oh my gosh! I’ve heard you so many times on Minute Videos that I had trouble comprehending that this is the face the voice actually goes with!! Aaaah!
Also, we’re learning Japanese for the exact same reasons. That’s amazing. The thing is, you’re probably more disciplined than me... I always learn a little bit and then quit for a while and come back. I need to be more dedicated, haha.

I'm learning French while also learning to draw and do 3D modeling. Currently a Computer Science student because of my parents and someday planning to take a degree in Architecture. I also plan to be fluent in Japanese someday too.
